Applewood Place Assisted Living

I always tell my friend that he is very fortunate that he can afford to live here. The food they serve is excellent in the dining room. I am surprised at how many activities he participates in since he has always been a bachelor and not a very social person. They are always telling me different things that he has done. I am very pleased with the service he is provided from the maintenance, transportation and care staff.

My husband and I moved into this community because it was close to our house and they had an opening. Management is quite thorough and they answered all the questions we had. They helped us with minor problems. They have good food at this community and we have gained weight since moving in. Most of the time, the service is very good. The servers are very friendly and patient. The housekeepers at this community seem to be quite competent, efficient and on time. The maintenance at this community is also good.

The staff will do anything they possibly could do for us at this community. Management's communication can be really good and the services seem to be good. My wife doesn't go and eat all that often. She eats breakfast and lunch but I am not sure if she eats her dinner all the time. She is encouraged to do so which is good. To my best knowledge the food is of good quality. My wife's room is usually very clean. We had her hair and nails done and they were johnny on the spot. We couldn't have asked for better care than that. I think there is enough staff and if we need something, they will do their best to help us. I hope they keep up the good work.

They did a good job with my dad, while he was there, and they are doing a good job with my mom as well. She is a lot safer here where people can check up on her than she was living alone in her house. Management has been very helpful with all of mom's issues lately. She has fallen four times and they have been very good at keeping track of her and watching over her. This community seems to have quite a few different activities. They do a lot of stuff. The housekeeping is pretty good. Maintenance had to fix her toilet paper hold because it got ripped off the wall when she fell for the first time. The grounds are very nice. The staff at this community have been very good at working with my mom and getting her to her appointments. She gets her medicine three times a day right on time.

Mom has lived in the community for almost two years. We are impressed with the chef, Justin, and the food he is serving. I occasionally eat with mom and I always think the food is good. Mom really likes the art classes they have and has made a number of things in there. The maintenance team is good and are always willing help mom with her TV when she gets it out of whack. John, the driver in transportaion, is great with her and he is very reliable. Everybody has been very friendly and has volunteered information to me.

I defintiely think there is value at Applewood Place. The care staff are all very attentive. They do everything they can to be there and help mom with anything she needs. It is just a relief off my back to know people are helping her. The maintenance team are very nice people and are very skilled in what they do. The housekeeping department keeps her apartment clean and neat. The chef here is excellent. He gives a lot of attention to my mom and her needs. Every time I have had a meal there it has been good and mom really enjoys the activities that are offered here. They make it easy for me to just come in and spend time with my mom in a safe environment.
