Barrington of Oakley

The care services are good; we just had our annual meeting. The nurses know what they're talking about and they say my mom's doing great. As soon as I get in there I can find somebody, they're right there. It's always clean. The housekeepers do a good job. The activities are awesome; my mom has done more in a year in a half. She went on a hot air balloon ride and on a hay ride through a giant cave. I've had no problems communicating with anybody. Everything gets smoothed out very quick. I think they're good and my mom likes it.

It was a hard decision to place my father there, but it was the right one and maybe should have been done sooner. He seems perfectly content, which is good. Whenever I ask of he likes the food he always says yes. Because he's in Memory Care he wakes later in the morning, they'll bring his breakfast to him but not wake him. I think that's a nice touch. I think it's a good value. The caregivers are very caring. They're very attentive to him, he seems happy to be there. He's not upset or anxious, and that's because of how they treat him.

It has been three and a half years since my mom moved in and the management staff is very good at communicating and getting back to us with any inquiries that we have. The activities are one of the best things that they have going on right now. Amy does a wonderful job. They try to make them all creative and different and not stale. My brother says the apartment is very clean. The facility is excellent. The healthcare staff is doing a very good job with my mom. They are very responsive to her needs and they give her a high level of touch.

Overall it is a very nice place. The service from the dining staff is good and the chef does a nice job. The quality of the food is pretty good. There is somebody that comes in and empties his garbage every day and she is wonderful. She is always cheerful and helpful. Pat, in maintenance, is wonderful and very responsive. I think the management staff does a good job too.

It's a God-send to have someone checking in on my mom. The staff is very responsive to her call button. Her level of care is incredible. They go above and beyond with the activities and the housekeepers are very tolerant of my mom and try to work with her. I know there's no better place for my mom. Casey, in management, always has her ears and eyes open on my Mom's situation. She texts me, which I appreciate. I've been very happy with it.

It was convenient for me and close to my house. It had a nice feel to it. We went there for a meal and my mom liked it. It wasn't the most or least expensive but the one we liked. The move went smoothly. When looking for a place they were in line with the going rate for the area, so I don't have any problem with that. The management team has been very attentive and helped me through this process. There's always something going on. She's not really geared into that yet but it always seems like there is something going on when I’m there. Before moving my mom in maintenance refurbished the apartment and they helped her get the TV set up. It's been great so far!
