Barrington of West Chester

I think for what my parents are receiving the value is fair. The management staff is just always very friendly and attentive, and they're very engaged with the residents. The dining staff knows everybody's name; they're super helpful, friendly, and sweet. The housekeeping is fine; she comes in every week and does a good job. I think the caretakers are pretty good. We've been very satisfied.

I know the management now; I've worked with them for quite a while. I think they do a good job. My mom has been hesitant to be involved very much, as much as we had wanted her to be. I would say there are good activities. We've had issues from time to time and the main maintenance guy Andy has always been responsive and helpful whenever he can be. When my sister and I were hunting for options we toured seven other places and evaluated about a dozen other ones and the Barrington was my number one pick. My mom's been there for two years and we continue to be happy with the decision.

I always tell people how happy we are that my siblings are there. There seem to be a lot of activities and a lot of things for them to do. When people are ill, not feeling well, they do a good job. We're very appreciative of the fact that they come in and help my sister-in-law bathe and get dressed every night, and are available for my brother. I've never spoken to anyone who wasn't helpful.

The Administrative staff knows the residents well and interact with them. I think there is a good variety in the food. It's always very good. The dining room is clean. I think the service is good, and they just do the best that they can to provide a good dining experience for the residents there. They make it very personable. The maintenance man, the slightest little thing, he's right on top of that. Everyone knows him, is comfortable with him, he knows everyone’s names. He gets right on top of things. The healthcare staff is not perfect, but they're responsive and I'm happy with them. I'm learning the process and helping my mom learn it too.

All in all we are very pleased. We're really happy with management. They've been there a while which is nice. The dining service staff is good, they're all very nice and friendly, and they take care of her. My mom really enjoys the activities. She likes the crafts and the jewelry making, the bingo, the outings. She likes going out to lunch. Housekeeping is going well. They launder the sheets, which is wonderful. They do her sheets and change the bed for her, which is really nice. Andy does a good job with maintenance. The facility just looks beautiful. Love the popcorn machine. It always looks clean, and the holiday decorations look so pretty and nice.

We saw a couple other places before the Barrington and it was the one we thought seemed the safest to us for my dad. It's very nice, that's one of the things I really liked about it is it's really clean and well decorated. It just looks really comfortable, it's really nice. He really likes the food. He really likes everybody that works there; they're all genuinely friendly and very helpful. He does a lot of activities. They have enough of a variety; they have a lot of music and different things he can take part in. We've been very happy.

I think it's a good place. I am getting a good value. Management is very good. The staff is very good to my dad and I appreciate everything they do. The dining room servers are wonderful, the ladies who do the serving are very good to my dad, and they enjoy him. The service has been excellent. I think the community offers great activities. The facility looks good, the maintenance is good. The caregivers do a real nice job with him; they look out for him, and seem to love him.

I just thought it was very clean, it didn't have a nursing home smell and I liked the administrator there. I thought the people that worked there seemed to be very caring about the residents. Lisa Fay, in management has just been a godsend and has really helped both my husband and I. She really helped us do what we needed to do to make that happen, she is just a great person. The caregivers are really good with my mother-in-law and she seems to like them really well. They've made her adjustment there really smooth. I think they have a lot of activities available to her and she does take advantage of it. They have a lot more than bingo; she goes to a lot of the places for lunch. Lisa Fay just really goes out of her way to answer any question I might have at any time, even if she's not there.

I toured eight facilities around town and was very impressed by all aspects of this community. My mom's very safe there. They know who she is and they know what she does. They're really attentive. The caregivers are very patient. Andy, in maintenance, has been great. He's been outstanding. It's really well-done over there. Lisa Faye, Carol and Karen have all been terrific. They deserve to be called out.

I feel very safe, that's one of the reasons why I moved here. It serves all of my needs and the price is fair for the services and accommodations. The management staff is very friendly and helpful. The maintenance man comes and changes the light bulbs and does whatever needs to be done. He responds right away. I like Andy a lot. The food is fine. They have choices for us which are nice. I'm very happy here.
