Bishop Place Senior Living

Management seems to manage things well here. My dealings with them have been fine. When I have been there, they have a good range of activities that look good. Maintenance seems to be pretty responsive and take care of everything.

My husband and I are taken care of well here and we are given quite a bit of help. I am happy where we are. Management is improving and upgrading where ever it is needed. They have people who know what they are doing and we appreciate that. They continue to bring in young people who seem to care and take care of us. As new employees appear, they are shown how to do their work. At this point, I have been quite satisfied and I think the food is very good. They are doing well with the activities. They are working hard to have things that we are interested in and there are different levels of activities. I enjoy them and they provide music and entertainment from outside the community and that is done quite well. The housekeepers try to keep up with the housekeeping as far as I am concerned. They come in, gather the laundry, do it during the day and return it. When something needs to be done, we have a system of contacting the lady at the desk who then fills out a form and gets it to maintenance. Then maintenance takes care of it. I had to be rushed to the hospital one night because I had pneumonia and the caregivers took care of that. This community has taken care of the snow, they have taken care of cutting the grass and everything is done very well.

It is a hotel friendly atmosphere instead of a nursing home atmosphere. Maintenance has been good and in terms of healthcare staff, if you call they put you in touch with whoever you're calling about.

The place my mother-in-law was at before was horrible. She is happy her at Bishop Place. Management does a wonderful job. They are very courteous, keep us informed, and they care about the residents. When you walk in the food looks good and they have a beautiful dining room. The food options do seem to be quality options. Housekeeping is fine, and she goes shopping with the group on the community bus. It's a fantastic place. I think it's wonderful and I am glad they're nearby.

Every once in a while I'll rely on the care staff and they're really wonderful and they empathize with me, I'm pleased with it. I really rely on the transportation, it's wonderful. Maintenance is doing an awfully good job and everything looks so nice all of the time. If I have any problems in my apartment things are taken care of pretty quickly. It's nice not having to worry about taking care of things myself. There are plenty of activities to do. You can do as much or as little as you want. The service in the dining room is excellent and the women that work there are very helpful. For what we get the value is good.

I am very thankful for the care they have given my sister. Management answers my calls, they contact me, they have been amazing, I can't thank them enough, they keep me very informed on my sister's progress and they always let me know what her needs are. I couldn't be happier with the care they have given my sister, they have been amazing, they've always shared with me if she needs anything and it's always been great. I know she's participating with other patients, they do tell me that. The healthcare staff always contacts me if there's any situation; they always let me know what has happened. They know I don't live in the state and let me know what any of her needs are; they're just very helpful to her.

There are a couple servers in the dining room mom thinks are wonderful, one is named Mary Ella. The food is okay in my opinion. The vacuuming and cleaning of the bathrooms are good. My mother is very happy with the transportation and says Judy is great. We are also pleased with the service we receive from activities, maintenance and management.

I like the management. They are helpful to me when I need to talk to them about something. They let me know what my options are. In regards to the dining, it is great. I really like the barbeque and the pancakes; my mom seems to enjoy those. They have a good variety and the service is really good. I like Ruby; she is pretty cool. Every time I ask maintenance to do something they do it. The nurses are good to my mom.

We're happy that there is a place that can take care of dad. I did it for a year and a half and my health went down so I know how hard it is. It's great, and the management is so responsive, any time I call and ask for something, they try to accommodate me. The caregivers do a good job making sure dad's taking his meds. If he gets a bruise or anything, Joyce, in nursing, always calls me. I think they do a great job in Memory Care there. When we've asked for something to get done, maintenance has been good, and housekeeping does a pretty good job keeping dad's apartment clean and they do his laundry. The food's pretty good, and it looks like a good variety on the menus from what we've seen, and the service from the waiters and waitresses is excellent. I think the room design and layout is great. He has a single room, that's good. The thing for dad is this is the only place within two hours of us that offers Memory Care, and they keep him comfortable, we know he is safe, and we feel the price is more than fair for all dad gets.

Anytime I have any questions, management always has an answer for me and they're fantastic and know their stuff. My mom likes to join in with the activities. I think mom socializes more now than she did when she was living in her house. The care is fantastic. Mom has been falling a lot lately and we can't figure out why so the care staff put extra watchers on her and have been great through this. The outside of the building looks beautiful and the inside looks good too.
