Bridgeport Place Assisted Living

I do not know what other facilities cost, but I think the price here is fair. The chef is accessible and takes our complaints or recommendations to heart and listens to us. The housekeepers clean our apartment for us once a week and they take our linens and wash them for us. The young lady who runs maintenance does an awesome job. She works as hard as she can. I think the caregivers attend to their duties quite well. The management staff is accessible, which is important.

Overall, I thought it was really good. We toured many Assisted Living facilities and we felt that the Bridgeport Place food was one of the best. As far as the personal care of my mother, it was very good. I think they have a good number of activities. My mom didn't partake too much, especially in the latter years. She wouldn't remember to go even though it was something I know she would have liked. When we brought things to the maintenance staff's attention, they were taken care of. We were happy with her being there. If I had to do it again under the same circumstances, I would probably still put mother there.

I think it's a good value because my mom's comfortable and is in better shape now than when she was living in her own apartment. After the initial things that were fixed when she moved in, there's not been a need for any maintenance. Her apartment is in good shape. She's very social and it provides what she needs. She's able to help other people, too. There's a new management team and my mom thinks they're doing ok. They are trying new things on the aging brain and that's helpful for her. She likes the crafts and many other activities. She likes the cleaning people and they keep her room clean. She loves the driver and the vehicle is in good shape. She's already had a couple of her friends from Merrill Gardens move over there with her.

Our experience has been excellent. We feel the people are very welcoming and friendly, we felt comfortable moving in, and even the residents are great. The response has been quite prompt when we call for help to get my husband up or into bed. They've been really prompt, and very willing to listen to what he says about how well he can move. Looking at the list of activities, they look very interesting. We did go to a movie the other day and really enjoyed that. The management staff has been very pleasant and willing to listen. It's very comparable in price to our last facility.
