Cardinal Village

I think very highly of the community. I have nothing but good things to say. My loved one is enjoying the food and is gaining weight, which is good. The activities and housekeeping have both been fine. She's well-cared for and clean. I check her fingernails, hair, smell her, I never have any issues. I am satisfied with everything happening there.

It's always clean, it's always neat. Between Linda and Cindy in Activities, they're involved in everything. They could not be more hands-on or friendlier. The nurse Denise is very talkative; you can always go to her with questions and is very willing to help you understand what's going on. I appreciate that. My mother is 90 years old and she's allergic to fish and has some other food allergies. They're always conscientious about those allergies. When I've been there with her they're trying to get her to eat even when she's not feeling well or acting childlike. They encourage her. Overall, they care for her, I know everybody by name because she's been there more than a year. There has been a lot of turnover with the CNAs. She's safe there, and when she was in the hospital she kept saying how much she missed her friends, the real friends she's made there.

The staff does a great job. Everything seems to be well taken care of. I think the activities are great, I like the personnel running the activities and the system they use so I can see the updates on my phone. The caretakers do a great job and always call me and let me know any updates. The maintenance people saw a problem and fixed it without me even knowing about it, so that was great. Everything seems to be well taken care of, I've been happy.

Even though it's almost at the top of the scale in this area, I'm so happy with the care that my mother's getting. The staff is definitely respectful. I appreciate the way they are with her. As far as dignity, they do a good job of preserving that as much as possible. The building is in good condition. They do an excellent job with the activities. They incorporate a lot of different crafts and physical exercise. They do as much as the residents can do, they incorporate activities that can keep them active and keeps their mind going. They do get her out as much as possible. They do a really good job with that, on the field trips. Issues are resolved quickly; management gets back to you right away.

The management team is terrific. They have been really good. I've eaten there a number of times and the food has been quite good. Everything is terrific. The housekeepers have been good. They come in consistently. Terry, from maintenance, has been good. The caregivers are very good as well. We were at another facility five years ago, but they weren't nearly as good as the caregivers here. They will call me back when I leave a voicemail.

I moved my mom in because they were the closest that would take her with her Dementia situation. The management staff has been very communicative with difficulties and they knew their stuff. The dining room looks clean and everyone seems to be content when I've done walk bys. I would say they have plenty of activities, there seems to be a good variety of things. It's cleaner than where she'd been living, it looks good. In terms of the care staff, they have a very difficult job and have been very friendly, courteous and communicative.

While my mother lived at the community the management staff was very helpful and they addressed any concerns that we had. When my mother started having dental issues, they started chopping her meat. They were very accommodating in that respect. They also gave a variety of activities, whether it was crafts or music. If I ever had any concerns in regards to her room or maintenance they we always taken care of quickly. It was also pretty reasonable.
