Chestnut House

The director is very good at managing things and the staff respond well to my Mom's needs. I think it' s a very caring place and it's meeting her needs.

I think the price is a good value and it is a very good place for him and it is in a good location. I think maintenance does a good job. They are always helpful. As far as I know everything is okay with the care.

I can't say enough about the staff that go out of their way for my mom and the residents are wonderful too. Cathy in housekeeping is excellent. She is always pleasant, she dusts, cleans, defrosts the refrigerator, puts out my mom's clothes, she gives excellent service. They have really upped the activities in the last month. Most of it is bingo, a craft or cooking, there seems to be a fairly decent variety. The building is well kept, well swept, picked up, painted and it's well maintained. I can't say enough about the staff that go out of their way for my mom and the residents are wonderful too. They are excellent with my mom, they take extremely good care of her and I know she's safe and cared for which is the most important factor.

These places are usually not wonderful places but this truly was.

Dad’s been in there four years, and the food is okay most of the time. I really like the Activities Director. I really think she relates well to the residents there, and my dad participates on a regular basis. The care givers have always called my brother or me whenever there is a problem. They seem to be on top of things pretty well. Anytime I have ever had any questions the managers are right there willing to help. His room is pretty clean usually and I've seen the maintenance team keep up with the maintenance as far as the outside, and inside they've painted. They keep up with any problems that arise in the apartments, they seem to be on it pretty well. Dad is safe there and we’re very satisfied with the value he’s getting.

Compared to where he came from, I think it's an excellent value.

My mom's apartment is perfect for her. Chestnut House has a very homey feel to it. That was the main reason we chose the community. The management staff has been so helpful and friendly. My mom really likes the food. The housekeeping department is always busy and her room is always clean. The care staff is very helpful. Any time I have asked for anything they are right on it. I would like to see more places like Chestnut House out there. It would make it easier for people needing to put their parents in a nursing home.

Management is always professional and always strive to meet our needs if we need anything. The care staff is really attentive and the medications are dispensed in a timely manner. The building always looks very nice and is always kept up as far as lawn care and maintenance. The courtyard is nice as well, there is always flowers and places for the residents to sit, it's very comfortable looking. Everything is clean, the laundry gets done and the beds get changed. My mom gets good quality care there and they do work with us as far as the rate goes and keeping the cost down.

When we priced around the area for value this was one of the best out there. For what we are getting for the money it appears it is well worth it. My mom is taken care of and we don't have to worry about her. She is happy with it and there are no concerns. Management is one of their strong points there because it hasn't changed. Mom says the food is good. She seems to like what they provide. Maintenance appears to be pretty thorough when responding to service requests. The care staff is very good with my mother. The staff seems to enjoy my mother and she does them.
