Eastside Gardens

Location was important, proximity to us. And we got the best feeling there from what we observed and what we were told. We were on the waiting list for months, and stayed on it because we knew it would be best for Dad. In comparison to other facilities Eastside Gardens is not as expensive and also offered my dad a discount since he is a veteran, and a short-term discount. The management staff has been extraordinary, always being patient, doing what they say they will do, following up. It has been a pleasure to work with them. The food is great, well prepared, and they give the residents plenty of time to eat, they're always very patient and keep things for him if he has to get up to use the bathroom. They offer a lot of activities and they include Memory Care residents in them.
Things are kept up with housekeeping and laundry. They've been going above and beyond and we appreciate that, doing things like folding his clothes and so laundry's never piling up. Before my dad moved in they put down new flooring and fresh paint, so it was a fresh clean feeling coming into and it's been well maintained since he's been there. The caregivers are great. If there's a problem they have not hesitated to call me, let me know if something out of the ordinary has taken place. Everyone in there is able to tell me what's going on with my father when I walk in, and the things he's done. So they're on top of things. They want to know where everybody is all the time, keeping track of everyone. They made sure we the family know to keep the outer doors closed, it's very safe.

I chose this for my father because it was close to the house and when I toured it I was impressed with the staff and the facility itself. It looks like they try to keep them pretty busy, which is good. The management staff was very helpful with questions.
