Habersham House

When you first enter the house it is gorgeous. Back where he is in the memory care it didn't smell bad. It is a nice place and my brother and I feel in love with it when we were looking for a place for Dad. To have someone to check on him to make sure he is okay, I think it is worth the price. It is a lot of money but in life you get what you pay for. Dad is eating well. They have a lot of activities offered. I am very satisfied with his care. He looks very good. He is laughing. These are things that we hadn't seen in a long time. His laughter wasn't there and it is back.

My dad needed immediate occupancy and this was the best option. My dad is definitely safe and comfortable there and it's a good value, especially when you compare it to other places in the country. The management and maintenance staffs are very responsive and we're very satisfied with the healthcare services. It's exactly what he needed, the staff seem to actually really know the residents, I think they engage the residents pretty well.

I chose Habersham House for my parents because I have a close friend that recommended it, it's still in the area that my mom knows and it has a reputation. Every person I have talked to there is pleasant and my parents are both happy, so it's been nothing but positive. When we first moved in, the maintenance man wanted to get their pictures hung right away and there were also no problems with getting their TV setup. My mother is so thankful to have meals done for her and when I see them, they get a choice and are healthy. She enjoys the exercise classes offered, so she participate in that with my father and she has been so thrilled with the housekeeping staff because they came in to change everything. In terms of their care, the healthcare staff is excellent. They have people who give them their medicine and we pay for that service, but to us it's very worthwhile. We also like the pharmacy that the community uses because I can call them for estimates about what their pills will cost. Overall, she has been just so pleased to not have to do anything for herself at the community and we're just happy that my parents like it there.

One of my fellow coworkers at the time had his mother at Habersham House and he spoke highly of it so this was one of the places I checked out and I liked it too. The management staff is good, everybody is professional and they seem to be concerned. They never gave me the impression they didn't have the time or anything, they've always shown me concern and consideration. My father has always been pretty positive about the food and they have all kinds of opportunities to keep people engaged and social. They completely redid the room before he moved in and everything seems to be clean and in good repair, it's pretty much everything you could ask for I suppose.

I am very pleased with the care they are giving my brother. It is done well. The food from the dining room is good, he is enjoying his meals and gaining weight. He will tell you straight up that it is good. There are plenty of activities to do here and it is encouraged to participate. The maintenance team is quick to respond to your needs. The AC went out in my brothers room and they were very quick in getting two portable units into his room for him to use during the repair. The environment as a whole is very tranquil and the maintenance of the grounds adds to that because it gives you a peaceful feeling.

It's average but I think the care is above that. I think it's great. He's been very happy with the caretakers; they're very pleasant and friendly. I've seen they have a good variety of activities, there are different ways to engage and they've tried to get him to engage. So it's very good so far. The management staff is very professional, nice and accommodating and will take care of anything right away. They're very friendly. I have been satisfied.

Overall, I am very satisfied with what I am paying for. The management and care staff display the utmost respect towards the residents and the building is always maintained. The lady that runs the facility, her name is Mrs. Brenda; I would give her 120%. She has been there when I needed to say something and she has been insightful. My mother had an emotional blow up and she diffused it without changing the level of her voice. It seems to me, whatever training she had, she should instruct others. I particularly enjoy the Bridge to Discovery program, I walked in one day while it was happening and it blew me away in every way. The staff is friendly; I don't see anyone get impatient. I don't see anyone talk to patients unless it's with the utmost respect. I've only met one med tech and her name was Regina, she is just a doll. My impression of going there to visit my mom is like visiting a relative’s house, cozy.

The management staff was quick to respond to me, even giving me their private mobile phone numbers. If I had any questions or concerns it was taken care of. The first day I took my mother there we were welcomed very quickly not only by numerous staff but the chef went out of his way to come get me in the parking lot to ask me about my mother's food allergies, which were not in the documents and he wanted to be sure he knew the level of her allergies, and to me that was very heartfelt. She is an amazing chef herself. She has absolutely nothing but positive things to say about the caregivers. She calls me and tells me of many of the activities she is partaking in and tells me with such excitement, she's now been able to enroll in physical therapy where they come in on a regular basis and she is really just living a second life there, it really is amazing.

I love the apartment and my dad likes it too. I love the atmosphere. The caregivers are really good, friendly and personable. I like how they interact with the people there. They walk with the residents if they want to walk; they've very attentive and come get them to go to the dining hall or to the activities. They're very friendly and I like the fact they do a morning devotion, they get everyone together. I thought that was a cool way to get their day started. They're very respectful. They have a full schedule of activities. They will come by and let him know when they're getting ready to do a movie or something if he wants to come down. I thought it was pretty cool they actually have a men's social, they don't have too many men but I thought it was fabulous that they were inclusive with getting them together. I believe the food services are really good. The director seems to have a really good handle on staff and is knowledgeable. Anytime I have questions about medication or anything there she is readily there and easily accessible. She just handles things very quickly. I asked her to do a few things and the very next day it was implemented. I noticed on the wall when I went to visit she had a sign for a staff member to assist him so I thought that was really cool, I wasn't expecting that.

I think it's fair, I really do. It's clean, that was one of my reasons for putting her there. The management staff was nice and everything, the staff has been nice in memory care. I think the girls have helped out a lot, they really have. From what I've seen the food looks good and my mom hasn't complained about it. The dining staff has been real nice and it's clean. The caregivers seem good to, from what I have seen.
