The Haven and the Laurels in Stone Oak

"I did a tour and I liked the ambience of it, it's bright and cheerful. I'm generally pleased with The Haven; I don’t have a lot of complaints. The management staff has all been very helpful. The maintenance staff was very helpful with the move-in, very accommodating. So far I'm impressed with the dining service, and the menu always looks great. For the facility and the amount of staff I think the value is fine. The facility is great, you pay for that, it's nice.

I think my mom gets what we pay for. It's a nice room and we're very happy with the place. The management has been wonderful, really good. The housekeeping staff keeps her laundry done and her apartment is clean. Maintenance helped with her TV when she moved in. The caregivers are excellent. They call me any time there is an issue. They have been very careful about watching her diabetes. I'm very thankful that they call me when anything comes up.

This is an excellent facility and if anybody I knew was looking for a place I would recommend them. I miss everyone there. I would be happy to put a five star on it. The majority of the caregivers are outstanding. I think they do an amazing job with the activities. We are planning on going to family night. I think Gail and Trixie go out of their way to be helpful. Everybody goes out of their way to helpful. Activities are 100%. Management always listens to anything. I actually regretted having to leave. I considered them family.

As we walked around on a tour the staff were all great, there's a healthy culture there. It's a good value. Management is thorough, personable, knowledgeable, makes you feel attended to, she was great. The food is good and healthy. Gail, the Activities Director is great. They care staff is attentive, always willing to help. If you have a question you can stop anyone and they will answer or find the right person to answer. We're very satisfied.

My mom was living somewhere else and the person who did the games there told us about them so we decided to look it up. The price is reasonable, so were not upset. The management staff has been very professional and she's been really happy about the dining staff trying to work with her diet. My mom is really excited about the activities and her room always looks nice. Maintenance came in and fixed her Wi-Fi, and that was good. She hasn't complained.

It just looked very good and when I went to visit, there was a lady named Michelle working there at the time, and she was just delightful. She made me feel comfortable and that my mom would be well taken care of so I chose to go with her and it was a very good experience at the time. I feel it's a wonderful place for my mom; they take very good care of her. The management staff was very good and kind to us during move in. In terms of dining, everything else she has ordered has been fantastic and the staff is wonderful. The only thing she does is the exercise in the morning and she doesn't want to miss that. She wants to be taken up there every day and participate in that. I think the caregivers and medicine nurses are wonderful. I have seen them be very compassionate and patient and they take good care of their residents there, so I would definitely recommend the facility.

It's smaller, it's a little older, the rooms are bigger and it just has a real homey feeling when you go in. The management staff have just been overly helpful, any question I had they answered. The food is good, the service is good, and the people are very helpful for people like my mom who may need their meat cut up. They're just wonderful, I'm very pleased with it, and I've eaten there. Housekeeping is good and the maintenance staff helped us move her in. I have gotten better care at Laurels than I could have ever gotten out of a hospital situation so that's good. I think it's wonderful. So far, everything's been fine.
