Maurice House

We are fortunate that my mother can have one of the larger rooms. I know that she is very happy having her own sitting room and a separate sleeping area. She has a corner room and she has windows galore. She is kind of secluded and has a view of the woods. I think it is wonderful activities, I love Sherry. I think she does a wonderful job with them. She is very active with everyone there and she usually has an outing with them. The housekeeping comes every Wednesday. My mom doesn't have any problems with her; she is very kind and considerate. The center courtyard has been nicely done. They planted a garden out there. The front entrance looks nice and the lawns are always manicured well. Ryan is very good and she is very attentive to needs of whatever my mother needs. She even visited my mom in the hospital. It has been wonderful.

My parents are happy there, it's a nice community. They have quarterly events families can come to. We are happy all the way around. Management does their job. They've continually done so since our first meeting. They've stayed on top of things. Edwin, the maintenance guy, is tip-top. He's on to everything. He just went in last week to check the air conditioners. He's on top of preventative maintenance. The apartment was painted before we moved in, everything was taken care of. Everything looks really nice. The yard is manicured, and the furniture, common areas, and dining room are clean. Everything is painted. It all looks good. It's a nice clean place. It looks more like a condo building; it doesn't look like a nursing home. The ease of communication with staff through emails is great and here it's the weekend and the nurse is responding on her day off. It's great. The staff checks on my parents, each shift. They're very courteous, take their time. My parents like everyone, everybody is nice.

The management is fantastic, they pass along messages. So if I tell one staff member something, it gets passed along. That is great because then I do not have to tell everyone. My brother gets what he wants in the dining room and is eating well. I am impressed with the activities that I have seen. There was a light bulb out in his night light. I never got around to reporting it, but they fixed it anyway. That made me very happy. The caretakers are keeping him up and moving and keeping him clean and dry. I mentioned that he needed a haircut and a shave and they took care of it right away. I have already told his friends about this facility. I would continue to recommend it to people. It's been a good fit for him.

We looked at several facilities and this seemed to be the one that adequately met her needs at this time and it's close to home. The caretakers are excellent; they check up on my mother and take care of her. It's very homey and welcoming. The housekeeping services are excellent; you can clearly tell when the cleaning person has been in. My mother has said the food is really good there and they accommodate special needs if you don't like something they'll make you something you like. You can tell they care about the people who live there. They go out of their way to do what they can to help.

In the four years that my mother lived at the community she never complained about the food so it must have been fine. Pearl, from healthcare, always found my mom and made sure that she took her medicine. They took care of my mom the best that they could. I think the maintenance gentleman was very good about coming around and doing things. Sheri, in activities, did a wonderful job. She is a very caring and wonderful person.

I think they try very hard with the activities that are offered. The caretakers are good. Edwin, the maintenance guy, is excellent. He does a lot more than just maintenance. The lady that cleans does a great job. She is very friendly and goes out of her way to help my mother.

I like everybody there. I feel pretty good about my father's care. He likes his group of ladies at the table. I haven't been there at dinner time, but I'm sure there's a good variety and quality because he's always full. His laundry is great. I know they come in once a week to clean. Edwin, from maintenance, is fantastic. He just went to the doctor a week ago. My niece met him there and said the transportation went well. I like everybody there and they're all doing well.

We chose this community for my mother because we knew people who lived there and it was close to our home. She loves the activities. They have a church service which she absolutely loves. The housekeeping staff is always very helpful. She is hard of hearing, but they go out of their way to help her. If she needs something, they help her with it. They make sure her laundry is done and brought back in a timely manner. The maintenance staff makes sure that things are taken care of either immediately or within a couple of hours. The caregivers are very friendly and helpful. They go out of their way to make her happy.
