Morningside of Dalton

The caretakers are really good. All of them have been really nice and helpful. They've really been right there for mom. They've really been accommodating. The activities have been excellent. They all do great and have something every day. There is something going on all the time. She enjoys the food, it's good. The workers are really good and everything looks clean and neat and everything. The management staff has really been supportive and good. Toni is just absolutely wonderful, if I ever need anything I just go to Toni and se assists with the situation.

We would highly recommend other people going there because we've had a really good experience there. I'm proud to say my mother is at Morningside. I can't say enough good things about them; they have just been super in every area from the director down to the custodian. I have not met a person that was not caring and helpful. If you ask any questions they get that person over there. I just can't say enough. If I had to go to a place, that's where I would want to go. I think the building looks good and everything seems to be working. I see him every time I go, he's always doing something and they have the yard mowed weekly. It's been a great experience overall!

The management and care staff are right there on top of things. I'm very pleased. Toni is always open to communicating, I have her cell phone number and she is always open and she has said if I have any complaints or concerns to please call her, so I have been pleased. I would recommend it to anybody. If I needed it, I wouldn't mind being there. The place was neat and the rooms were more spacious than where she had been living. I like that she has climate control so she can control her heat and air conditioning. The staff is really, really nice, they are all very courteous and kind to my mother.

My brother was only at the facility for a short period of time to cover while he is unable to drive, and he will be leaving next week to go back to his home, but I think it is very fairly priced. Toni, in management, has done exactly what we would want her to do, which is provide us with information and stay in touch with us. I know that there have been times when we picked up really early to take him to treatment in Atlanta, and he was able to find people who were able to get his medications in the early hours, so I think they have been accommodating every time he has needed anything. He has friends who came and took him out virtually every day, so I don't know that he is participated in a single thing, but he certainly knew it was available.

The management have been able to answer all my question, they have provided information, and they have been prompt when I needed to see them or talk with them, it has all been very good and very professional. My mother seems to be very satisfied with the meals. I know that they have been excellent about getting her what she wants and would taste good to her. The caregivers have been super to her. She is 94 so this has been a huge adjustments for her, and they have just gone out of their way to make sure that she was cared for, her needs were met, and that she felt comfortable. Dale is his name in maintenance and he has bent over backwards to make sure that mother has everything where she wants it. She thoroughly enjoyed the Easter egg hunt that they did with the kids on Friday. Then a Mennonite choir went there on Sunday, so after she had been to my service, she wanted to get back to see that. We haven't come across anything that they haven't been able to handle well, and we haven’t come across any needs that they haven't been able to accommodate.

The management staff just took their time and sat down and went over everything with me. My mom loves it and they have been very attentive to her and that's wonderful. They come and get her for activities because I expressed to them that she needs to socialize. They go get her and make sure she's there so I think that's really a good thing too. The caretakers seem to be on top of everything, they come and check on her every morning. I would tell anybody that it's the best place there in Dalton. I'm really particular and I just feel that she's safe and happy there; I think it's just wonderful. It's brightened her up a whole lot. She's in a good community.

I was very pleased with everything and I would recommend people to go there. My mother always said they had plenty of food, there was a lot of variety, and they were helpful if I needed extra things. The care staff answered my questions, they answered my siblings' questions, and Tony went to see my mom is the hospital. She wanted to put in a bird feeder and we couldn't get in the ground, and so the maintenance guy came and put it in the ground for her. They helped out even when it was beyond their skills. The overall facility was clean: the dining area, the front area. They had a wide variety of activities and a lot of people who came in. They encouraged them to go. I thought it was fine.

I would certainly recommend the facility and I have no reason to give them any negatives. The outside is well kept, the inside is very attractive, and the lobby area always looked nice when we were in there. They have a practitioner on duty. For the facility and what it is, they have adequate care staff. There were plenty of things to do and they were very good about getting the patients out and getting them involved. It wasn't priced too high - and we felt like we got services rendered for money paid.
