Morningside House of Laurel

Everything is going smoothly. My brother has special needs and they dining staff are always able to accommodate him. Anything he orders, even if it's not on the menu, they'll prepare it for him. The care services are excellent. They take really good care of him. It's a good facility, it really is. I really haven’t had any problems. He's been there since last September, so I'm satisfied.

The management seems to be doing a real good job. I would recommend the facility to anyone who has to put their loved one in a home. It's really nice that when you walk in, it feels like a hotel and not a nursing home. My son goes there all the time to visit, and has no problem with the healthcare services. Evidently it's going very well. My children report back to me after they go visit my brother and they say he's well taken care of. A drawer in his bedroom needed to be fixed, and they fixed it right away. The building is beautiful and in good repair. Everything that needed to be repaired has been repaired. He has a nice view of the lake from his room. He says the food is good, and my son went to visit and he said it looked good too. We had his birthday party there and we've had dinner with him there on other occasions too, and the food has been good. We've been happy with the dining experience. The management is great with my brother. It doesn't feel like a nursing home there. They all know him. He has cancer so there's not much they can do for him besides keep him comfortable. They keep him clean and his room is clean. It's a very good value. He likes it there and has never complained. He has a lot of girlfriends there; there are a lot of women there. The people there are so nice. My kids said they felt like they were in a hotel when they were visiting, because they would sit by the fire place and people would offer them beverages.

I would say it's a good value. Management seems to be doing a pretty efficient job. Everything in the dining room runs smoothly. If we ever have any complaints, all we do is go to Foluso and it's corrected right away. The service in the dining hall is very good. Laundry is excellent. Transportation is going really well. We have a new bus. Every time I've needed to be somewhere, they've gotten me there.

I do feel safe and comfortable living here, nobody bothers us. The garden is very appealing. They're really taking care of me. The dining is good. They work very hard and the setting is nice.

The first time I saw the price I thought it was high, but then I did some looking but there is a lot of staff and lot of services, and I think the price is reasonable. It's a great place, very safe. My sister says she loves the food there. She's a vegan and she is very satisfied with it. I've eaten there twice and it was fine. The maintenance staff fixes things in a timely manner. They did a great job fixing the flashing light for the alarm. I bought a doorbell for her room and they put it in. The apartment looks nice and clean, they cleaned well.

They have a lot of activities in the facility and they have quite a few groups come in and entertain the residents. They are keeping the building up. The housekeepers keep my mom's apartment pretty clean. The carpets are kept clean and the bathroom is clean. I think the dining room is accommodating.

My family requested we put my aunt near to all of us, and I was looking for something affordable but that had dementia care. Morningside had a reasonable price, and I thought the facility was very nice. Most importantly I liked the people and the residents seemed very happy. I thought the management staff was very responsive, and they went out of their way to make my aunt feel very comfortable. There is a big calendar in the front that tells everything that is going on. The room was very clean and move-in ready. It smells great.

My mother has been at the community for about two years now and the care givers that are there now are good and I feel that my mom is in good hands. My mom doesn't need much care. They recognize her and talk to her. They seem to be on time and have a schedule. I really like that they have physicians come to the facility.

It is a new administration team and so far they have been good. They answer any questions that I have regarding my mother. She has had no complaints about the dining and she says that the activities are good. I think that the transportation department does an excellent job. I think the care givers are very caring. They know the people and they know my mother’s name. They get them to interact and getting them out. All of that is important.
