Morningside House of St. Charles

Management was very helpful. They explained things to the entire family. The entire staff is very helpful, everything is clean and organized, and my father is treated with respect. It's very well run. They have a good amount of activities. They play bingo, different games. They have music. When I go there everything is clean in his apartment. They do his laundry. It's very good, they fold everything. All of the caregiving staff is excellent. The caregivers have been very helpful, with everything, his medicine. Everybody has a nice attitude. They're doing a great job.

We thought my father would need nursing home status, but the nurse assessed him and decided he could be accommodated here at Morningside. I think everybody is responsive, knowledgeable and know all the residents by name. I feel like he's being looked at and cared for. The housekeepers are attentive and make sure the room is clean and it smells nice. The management staff described the services very well, they took the time to go through every page of the application and answer all kinds of questions. They were accessible. Kristin was wonderfully patient in describing things. The activities are nice, there is a nice variety and range, things to challenge the mind and things like that, so that's really good.

The caregivers really make the difference. The staff is helpful and pleasant. There's a good variety in the dining room and the service is pretty good and the staff is helpful. The value is there for the price paid.

Krista is the executive person and she is attentive. In general the executive teams are good. They try to respond to all issues when they are brought up. The dining staff is good. They are kind with the residents and they try to keep the communication open with the residents. They even have monthly meetings about the food. The care and nursing staff is good. Over the last year, she has not required much attention from them. When she did need help, they were very attentive to her and took care of her.

Chris and Joan in management have been excellent; the whole management team has been great because they're always there. The Activities Department is very hands on and really enjoys doing it. They're always doing something no matter what time of day I'm in there. My mother thinks very highly of the housekeepers. Joan, in charge of nursing, is an excellent person and really gets things done. Tasha is super and really likes her job; she's very good at it. I'd say 95% of the technicians are very capable as well. I don't have many issues.

Everything seems okay at Morningside, the management team is friendly and approachable. From what we see the residents are having fun. The place seems alive when we come there, not like anyone is being ignored. The staff is great. The maintenance man put the drapes up right away and helped her with her TV when he didn't have to. He is very polite. I recommend the community to others all the time.
