Morningside of Macon

We chose this community for my dad because Mitsy, in management, made us feel completely at ease. She seemed like she genuinely cared and she was approachable. The community itself seemed clean, friendly and there was a lot going on. The price here is great and Tammy in management has been great. Management is good listeners. They are friendly, personable and listen to me ramble on. My dad says the food is great and I can see on the calendar that they are offering enough activities. It is a plus that he can get a pedicure or a haircut there. The housekeeping seems fine and the community is great. Everything looks good. The caregivers are very attentive and listen to any questions or requests. The staff has helped me with advice or recommendations regarding seats to go in the shower. We are very satisfied with this community and hopefully he will be here for a while.

We had to move my mom after she kept falling because of her condition. I've moved her to a Memory Care unit. I would definitely recommend it. I would go back there again if I could. Overall care was excellent. I have no complaints with Morningside whatsoever. The management team answered any questions I had and were always available. They offered a good amount of activities, and she said she loved the food. It was really good and seasoned the way she liked it. When she did have problems the maintenance man came over and fixed it usually within an hour. The building maintenance was always good; it always looked appealing to me. Housekeeping and laundry are fine, I never had a problem with either. When I was first looking I visited nine places. Value-wise Morningside is outstanding.

I chose this for my mother because of the money and I knew somebody that had someone there. They keep me aware of everything and are very good with my mom. They are always very friendly with us. They are very nice people. We have eaten there with mom one time and it was great. The activities are great. They keep them busy. The community is always clean and looks nice. If it wasn't I wouldn't have my mother in there. They do everything they say they are going to do with her. They keep her up and moving around. I feel like we are getting a good price. We just love it there!

Management is very attentive and Mitsy, the administrator, is very efficient.The food is quite good and my mom has commented that she feels like she is in a country club. I think they have very good quality food. I have eaten there five or six times without prior notice and they were always able to accommodate me and the food was good. The calendar is out in the front area where anyone including visitors can see what is going on that week. Housekeeping has been really great and nothing has been lost. They have been very prompt in doing the laundry and getting it back to her. My mom needed to have her TV remote set up and maintenance came that evening to set it up and get it programmed. Everything in the community is spick and span. They keep the carpets nice and there is no odor. I think the price is very good and I think that it is in par with other communities. It may actually be a better value than other communities. This is a wonderful community and we are glad to be here.

Missy is the Executive Director and Tammy is the nurse and Tanja is at the front desk; they work all together and with the families to ensure that my parents experience is wonderful. Even though Missy is the executive director she is not sitting in her office all the time. She is out talking with the residents and checking in on them. They make you feel very comfortable and at home. They are very approachable and very knowledgeable and they are a joy to interact with. It is like a five star restaurant. It is really, really good food every meal. The service is perfect. It is very personable. The activities director is wonderful. But, it is also Missy and Tammy and Tanja, everyone is involved; that way all of the residents know the staff. 'The housekeeping is excellent. I have been there on cleaning day. They are careful not to get in my parents way and at the same time they are cleaning. They do a wonderful job and they are very thorough. At Morningside there is no need to put names on the clothing because mom and dad’s laundry day is Wednesday. On Wednesday afternoon they put their laundry outside their door and then Thursday it is back nicely folded and fresh and clean. They keep the grounds and the inside very nice. What I like about it is that it doesn't look, feel or seem like a nursing home. The way it is laid out is like you are going into a hotel. Tammy Loveless is the nurse and she has a great staff. If I have a question or if I am not there I will call and ask to speak to Tammy. She will personally take care of anything.
