The Oaks, A Merrill Gardens Community

I don't have any complaints at this point. The dining is excellent. We have eaten dinner with her. We have dropped in sometimes with friends and they will serve us coffee and a danish. So they make us feel very welcome. From what I have seen the activities are very good. They always get them up and moving and outside. Her clothes are always clean and well kept. George is wonderful. I wish we could clone him or have many of them just like him. Inside the maintenance is good. I was impressed yesterday that they were cleaning the banisters with antiseptic. The cleanliness and the maintenance appear to be very good. In regards to the care, I have been very, very happy. The care givers give her a lot of attention. There is always someone available. If you ask for something you get it.

I chose this community for my mom because the monthly payment was very reasonable and it was something that my mom was already familiar with. The minute I walked into the place it felt like home and the people I was talking to were working together as a team so they were both very knowledgeable. I really liked the two sales people, Bob and Lorraine. They really worked well together so when one had a day off it really didn't matter because the other stepped in quite nicely, it was wonderful. Their care level is excellent. Housekeeping has cleaned once and from what I've seen it's been great so far and the building is excellent. I've eaten there and there is a good quality and variety in the dining room and the service is great.

I chose it because of the weather and my brother lives down here. The management is postive and helpful. I have been satisfied with housekeeping, maintenance and the dining.

I moved my wife to The Oaks because the food was far superior to Brookdale and the people at The Oaks are very good. I like the attention the staff gives, their attitude and everything about the community. She hasn't been there that long, but so far everybody in management has been good there, including the people at the front desk and the community provides activities, so the staff working there does everything they can do for the residents. Her housekeeping is fine and her clothes are being cleaned. The old stuff that she had been wearing, the staff will place in it the closet on a stool and they take it away to wash. The building itself is maintained very well and has no odors, so I'd say it's like a hotel. Regarding my wife's care, the entire staff is respectful, knowledgeable, accessible and responsive, so it's been a good experience so far. Whenever I speak with friends or relatives, I always tell them how nice the community looks.

As far as I can tell the management staff seems to be pretty much on top of things. They have pretty good activities. My wife has done some activities out in the assisted living area and the gal does a pretty good job. They bring entertainment in. The housekeeper in our area is good. The maintenance staff is good. They are very attentive to all of the details and the big ones. One good thing about this location is that it is close to a lot of medical situations. There is a pretty good sized hospital nearby and some of the doctors we have acquired through this process are close by as well.

Management seems to be very in touch with the needs of my mom and have been attentive to my needs, it's been above and beyond. Judy has been phenomenal at making sure things are done with her medication and if I have suggestions, they're very attentive to trying that. The healthcare staff works hard, I appreciate each and every one of them over there. The value is excellent, it's a great value for me and my mom for the care she's requiring.

The management staff seems to pay close attention to her needs and take really good care of her. If anything happens they call right away even if it isn't anything major. The food seems to be pretty good and she seems to enjoy it. The new activities director seems to be pretty good. I have watched them several times playing games and music and she seems to like that a lot. The housekeeping has been doing a great job in the last few months.

I chose The Oaks because the people here were very nice and helpful. The Sales Manager and Director were extremely helpful. I would recommend it, and I have. I've already gained five pounds in one month. Good variety, quality, and they servers are very congenial. There are a lot of activities offered but I haven’t gotten into any of them yet. I am settling in, I will get into more when I'm ready. Maintenance did very well and put my pictures up where I wanted them. They keep the community looking outstanding, just wonderful. I think they’re very fair on pricing. Very wonderful, everyone has been outstanding. It's been outstanding. I can’t say anything bad, I'm really happy here.

The activities are great, they do have outings to different places. The housekeeping is very good and maintenance is excellent.

My daughter chose The Oaks because it's closer to her house. The managers are all so friendly, remember you name, and they are all really nice people. All the people who work here are nice. Housekeeping is excellent and maintenance is very, very good. It's a little expensive, but I can understand why. I am comfortable here, and I am safe.
