Parkside Assisted Living

They are good about getting him involved, out of his shell and they are making him feel at home. I think they are very caring and very good. There seems to be more variety in activities than a lot of places. I have never gone in his room where it was messy and he describes the building as magnificent.

Parkside Assisted Living was chosen for grandma because of location, but also we were really impressed with the staff. It's the best community we have been in.

We chose this community for my mom because it is close to home and it seemed well organized and maintained. I can't complain about anything so I guess the value is fine. My mom is really happy with her room and the food. I think the activities are very good. They have plenty to do and they are right within what she is capable of doing.

My dad has lived at Parkside Assisted Living for 8 years now and he does not want to leave because he's comfortable there. His rent is subsidized and the apartments have large rooms at the community, but I also am satisfied with the services he is provided and he feels safe living there. The staff told me that he loves his room because he likes to watch who comes and goes, so the staff really takes the time to get to know people. I am satisfied with the maintenance of his apartment and the building, plus the maintenance staff is excellent. Regarding his care, they have a lady at the community who is a very resourceful, skilled, caring person. She goes out of her way for not only the Parkside assisted care, but there are also condos in the community and she is able to help those residents as well. She trains her people well and hires staff that we trust, which is very important that he has staff he not only likes, but trusts. In terms of the dining experience, there is menu variety offered and the service is very good because everyone else pitches in. Activities at the community are entertaining, well planned and The Activity Director is a very caring person who spends a great deal of time with many residents. Overall, it's been a satisfactory experience for my father at the community.

Mom has been there for four years, and as far as the food, the quality, the atmosphere, it's very good. They offer quite a few activities. Everything from bingo to musical entertainment that comes in occasionally. There's a light exercise area. Mom makes use of the transportation to medical appointments occasionally. Maintenance is pretty attentive. When you have a problem, Tom will come in and he’s good about fixing things. As far as the RAs, they're wonderful. If she needs help they are right there to help her. We are really happy with the community, she is happy there, has adjusted well to the atmosphere, which is homey. The staff we've worked with have been very friendly and helpful. I think she feels safe there and we feel like she is getting good care.

In comparison to other facilities I would say this facility has a satisfactory value. The entry always looks good with the decorating. My brother has used the transportation service and it has worked out okay. My contact with nursing assistants have all been positive.

We did check out three places before we decided on Parkside. It seemed to be the most conveinient for location and we liked the grounds. We liked Nicki and Jill, they were wonderful. The apartment was adorable, nice and roomy. It was bright with windows. My mom was definitely safe and comfortable there. We thought the dining room food was pretty good. Maintenance was very good. Tom was a very nice man and very accommodating. The aides were wonderful. They worked hard and they treated her with respect and they were very kind. My mom said anything bad about the girls. The aides were excellent. All in all, it was all fine.

Whenever I've ever asked for something to be done it's been done very quickly. The housekeeping is good. The menu is very good. Two of our cooks are excellent, the wait staff is marvelous, no problems. I think the management team is doing well. They seem to work well with the people. The building is good, the neighborhood is good, everybody is friendly inside and outside of the building.

The management staff is awful good to me, they do whatever you want. I think we are very fortunate to have such a good cook. The transportation offered is very good; they got a new vehicle just this last year. The activities are pretty good. They have card games and lots of things going on around here. They keep everything clean. You know, if you do have to go to live at one of these communities I don't think you are going to find one much better than here.

My mom's needs are a lot less than other tenants, and so, based on her needs it's a good value. The people I deal with are very friendly, helpful, accommodating, great customer service. I would say the food is really, really, really good. It seems to be a nice blend of activities offered. The van is very nice, it's very good. She's safe, and feels like they work around her appointments. It's a very welcoming atmosphere, it's great.
