The Retreat at Sunbrook Assisted Living

I think the management team is great. They seem concerned about my mom and they ask me how she's doing. They are friendly, and the facility is well run. They seem to have a lot of different activities going on all the time all day long for people with different interests and abilities. Maintenance does a good job. I feel like they really try. They are trying to make it a pleasant place for these people, and they seem to really care. The caregivers are fantastic! I am so pleased and so grateful, and my mom is happy there.

My mother could not be happier with this community. The dining staff does an excellent job. The menu is pretty good. They give the resident's a lot to do. The housekeepers do a great job. They are excellent and they check up on her. The maintenance man was in just the other day to make sure the hot water was not too hot for her. The building and grounds are beautiful. They take really good care of her. We are very happy with the place and we are glad that we found it.

There are highs and lows but this is an exceptional facility, it's gorgeous, and my mom's been here since it opened. The caregivers are very patient with them and it is not an easy job. They have good, balanced and healthy meals, not a lot of carbs. One thing I never worry about, they have great security. The doors are always locked, you can only come through the front door and there is always a receptionist. I think they have great security. The management staff really does their best. If I write him a letter or call him he will tell me what he's doing to fix things. When everything is in place, it's wonderful.

The director is phenomenal. He runs a good crew and everybody there is attentive and takes really good care of my mom. They are very patient and take exceptional care. I think the activities director does a good job. They do bus trips and excursions. Whenever I'm there I see a lot of activities and people participating. They have musical groups come in. If residents want to participate, they have a lot of things to do. I love that they go on bus trips and that they are open to suggestions. My mom has many suggestions, and I think it's really sweet that they do what the residents ask them. The housekeeping staff clean regularly and pick up her trash whenever she calls them. She prefers to do her own laundry, and I think it's nice that they have that option available. Every time I go in it looks very neat and tidy. Maintenance does a good job. They take care of the residents, and they come in when they are requested. They do things that are above and beyond what I think their call of duty should be. They keep residents happy, and I think they are fabulous. It is the Taj Mahal of assisted living facilities. It is a very nice facility. My mom is very proud to call that home. I’ve recommended it to a lot of people. The staff, especially Garrett, Alexis, and Megan, is fabulous. They go above and beyond and take care of everybody there.

The management team is good. The food is very good. Good variety, good salad bar, good soups each day. They do a good job. The service staff is very accommodating. There's always some great activity happening there. The facility and grounds are awesome. It's still quite new, everything looks nice. The staff all calls my mom by name; they're very kind to her. I've recommended to an awful lot of people.

This is what I say to people, "It is the best place in the county." Some might say that it is the best place in the state. I think they have an excellent maintenance man here. He is hard working and able to deal with most everything. I think that healthcare is good here. Probably it is excellent. We have a nurse who comes in often enough to take care of things. We have a doctor who comes in for some people. Ever since I have been in here, I have been a techy, a nerd. I have been doing a little variety show for the residents on Saturday evenings. It is good for my mind and if they get a benefit that is icing on the cake. I have the best apartment in the place. I have a great view of the golf course. Sometimes I call myself the king.

While my mother lived at the community she had a super-awesome apartment. I think the activities are great and housekeeping did a good job. Maintenance and the care staff also did a good job.
