Saunders House

Management is very personable and efficient. The healthcare staff do a good job in helping my brother. My brother likes the food. The laundry and housekeeping is good and the activities are fairly good, they have some good stuff.

They seem to do everything okay; I think it is a very good community. My uncle participates in bingo, happy hour, auctions and a few outings. He does what he enjoys doing. They do a good job with housekeeping and he doesn't have any problems. It is a very nice place. He has had to have his refrigerator changed twice and the maintenance staff were quick to help him. The care has been very good. They help him and give him his pills and help him with his bath.

It is a peace of mind for me and for my mom because she didn't feel safe being at home alone during the winter. She has completely changed her whole attitude and body language since being here. She is happy. Before when we left her house, she would get depressed but now she is happy and helps other residents. She feels like she is doing something and she feels important. She is being pampered here. I am so happy and thankful she is here. I think the management is phenomenal. They are very attentive and caring. They are just wonderful. The food smells wonderful and I have heard nothing but wonderful things. My mom says the food is great and the food presentation is beautiful. The residents are kept so busy with wonderful activities. My mother has never painted in her life. She had a very beautiful picture on canvas in her apartment when I visited at Christmas. I asked her where she got it and she said that she painted it. She did a beautiful job. When she talks to me she says she can't talk long because she has to go do another activity. When we talk in the evening, she tells me that she is exhausted because of all that she did that day. The housekeepers are cleaning her apartment once a week. The cleaning is great. They do a wonderful job. She does her own laundry but the laundry facilities are wonderful. She had an issue when we first got there but maintenance got it taken care of right away. She doesn't receive a lot of care but they do help her with her hose and they check on her often. The staff is phenomenal and so friendly. Everyone is always smiling and is so willing to help. I am in a wheelchair and they are all so willing to help me. One day when I came it was raining. I got out unloading the things I brought for mom; someone came running out and offered to move my van for me so I wouldn't get wet. That was phenomenal and she didn't have to do that. My mom loves it here and is having the time of her life.

The management staff has responded to me immediately whenever I have contacted them. I am very pleased. I have asked Dad about the food and he says the food is good. If they want alternate food for whatever reason there is always something available. I always get the flyers about the things that are happening there with activities. The housekeeping staff is very responsive to Dad and things are taken care of. There have been times I think they have gone beyond what was required. I think they are very good. The building and grounds are very well kept up. We have had no problems with the care staff and are very satisfied. I have worked with the nurse many times over the years. She is very responsive. They are there if he needs attention and I can always find someone if I need someone. Dad has been very happy and hasn't had any complaints. He has said many times this is a good place for him.

The price is about the same regardless of where you go. It is absolutely worth it because they are so great. Management is amazing. It was quite a challenge getting my mom moved into the community but they have been there every step of the way. We have had some issues regarding the rent but they have held my hand through the entire thing. They are working with me to get through it. Overall the food has been great. She actually enjoys the food here and there is very little that she complains about. There is a good enough variety and they offer good choices. There is always something else when they serve fish that she can opt to have. The servers do a fantastic job. This community offers quite a bit of activities and they have bingo all the time. Housekeeping is doing a really great job. The place is always clean when you walk in and the entire community is always clean and smells good. The maintenance man, Ron, is a great guy. He is doing a great job. The community always looks great and the yard always looks great. The caregivers are amazing. They have catered to everything that my mom needs. Any time she has rung her bell, they come right away. Stevie, Tayna and Tiffany are the three head gals there and they are amazing. Not only do they deal with my mother and her issues but they deal with me. They are awesome and are appreciated. I often just pop in and I am always pleased.

This community is very valuable to me. We have had good luck with the personnel there and they contact us if they need to. The menu looks good and the laundry is fine. There was a switch in the bathroom that was bad. As soon as we told maintenance about it, they replaced it. The caregivers seem to take a lot of time to care for the resident’s needs. They care for the residents and do an excellent job.
