The Sheridan at Birmingham

Everything went very smoothly with the move in. The people at the desk are very friendly and very helpful. I feel like if I needed anything for my friend I could just go ask them and they'd take care of it. They seem to all bend over backward to make sure everything's okay. She's very happy with the housekeeping. The building is gorgeous. She loves the apartment. I have never seen her so happy about her living space. Her health is a little fragile, so it is comforting to know that there is a nurse there all the time. She is going down to do the little exercise group, and that's good. We chose this place for the fact that it was brand new and cheerier than the other places we visited. She also had some friends who were going to move in. Management seems to all bend over backward to make sure everything's okay, which I greatly appreciate.

It's beautiful, it's new, and everyone that we met was fantastic. When I looked at the Sheridan, I didn't need to look anywhere else. We’ve eaten there several times and it's been wonderful. The dining staff is very accommodating; the wait staff is friendly and is always kind to my mother-in-law and the other clients. They seem to be wonderful, they know them. I would not be interested in putting her anywhere else, this is fantastic. We're more than happy with her care. Nancy in sales was extremely thorough and followed up on everything, answered questions, went out of her way to be helpful and assist, signing the contract was easy. I have no complaints.

Management has been so hands-on with my mother. Dining has been great and the variety is good. My mother is happy with the food and the staff is very friendly. There is a great variety of restaurants, speakers and other activities. My sister was there when they moved in and we wanted the TV in a different place, but they did it right away. Michael, in healthcare, is hands-on and knows my name already. They seem to really care and it's great.

Everybody there has been wonderful. My husband's been very happy there and I've been very happy with them. I think the activities are fine. He finally has been eating with other people. The housekeeping has been good. I couldn't rate the caregivers high enough. They are all really good. I didn't know whether or not he would be happy there, but it's good that he is doing well.

My aunt wanted to be close to where her friends lived, and she was intrigued by the fitness room. At this price point right now it's great. She feels safe and comfortable at the community. The sales staff was great. Everyone is so nice; the move-in coordinator was so helpful. The head guy explained everything very well, nothing but positives. I think they have been very good. It's been great the place always looks very clean to me. They’ve already had to step up to the “plate.” The caretaker made the right call the other day when my aunt pressed her emergency button; they decided to take her to emergency services. They have been great and very thorough.

Constance, the head nurse there, is very good. She is very genuine and very concerned about the issues that come up. She returns my phone calls promptly. Maintenance has been fine. We had them install a shower shelf for my dad, and they came in a timely manner for that. There was a plug that wasn't working when we first came in, and he jumped right on that as well. It is a brand new building - very pleasant inside. It is a good value for the service we're receiving. The apartment is very nice. It is an open floor plan, and it has lots of big windows.

The community staff really is outstanding. The staff is very attentive, follow up on things, and friendly. They got to know my aunt’s family as well as her. They seem to have a very good variety of things to do there. Housekeeping has always been very good. The maintenance staff has been very good about coming to get the air conditioning working correctly and getting the doors to open correctly. They all are friendly, they go and find my aunt if she needs her medicine. They have learned how to work with her which is very good.
