Sunflower Gardens

I was very impressed from the start of the interview with this community. I immediately decided that was the place for my husband and I’m glad I did. There is a lot of flavor to the food and it is nicely presented. I find the menus are very good. The activities department really goes out of their way to present a lot of really interesting things to the residents. The place is very clean. It is very impressive actually. The care staff are on top of everything, especially Fatima; she was so attentive and kept me infomed of everything while my husband was in the hospital. When anything happens I am informed immediately and I am very appreciative of it.

Sunflower Gardens was the first place we went to see and thought it couldn't be the first place we choose, but after having conversation with a lot of people we were right back there. They have come through for everything we have needed and have been valuable to us. The pricing is fair compared to the competition and I do feel like they do their best to provide the best service they can. Management has been wonderful, their communication is good and they're very caring from the moment we walked in there until today. There is always a warm welcome and lots of conversations, so as far as the administration everything has been really good. My uncle enjoys all the food that they serve and his apartment is always kept clean, with fresh clothes. I know the exercise and the music activities are his favorites and even when he doesn't know what they're doing, he still makes the most of it and participates so it has been an overall positive experience. The Nurse is excellent and the grounds are kept perfectly, so everything is fine.

My dad is in a single room, so it is a great value for what he has. Management is really good at communicating with me when things need to be done with dad. I have heard the food is good at this community and there are enough activities offered. Housekeeping is doing great. My dad's room is always tidy. He had a clogged toilet and maintenance fixed it that day, so maintenance attends to things when they see them. My dad is getting great care. He is incontinent and the caregivers are very responsive to that. This community is doing a great job with my dad and I really appreciate it.

I have had my husband there eighteen months. What really made me choose this community is the openness. There are doors and patios, residents can walk around, they're not locked away. Housekeeping is always cleaning, and maintenance is always painting and patching. For activities, they bring in music and entertainers, which I find every good. The nursing staff, particularly the Med Techs, deserves kudos, I think they're great. I looked at plenty of places before placing my husband and I think it's a very good value.

We chose Sunflower Gardens 3 years ago and we have been satisfied with the services and accommodations that are provided to my husband. Management is accessible and responsive, he seems to enjoy the diningsince he has built quite an appetite and the activities are pretty good, it seems like they're always busy doing something when I am there. The maintenance man is very friendly and very helpful, so my husband seems to really like him. Overall, I think he is getting really good care and fortunately, we're able to pay that so I am very pleased he is there and you do get your value for the money.

I placed my wife at Sunflower Gardens back in March of this year and compared to other places I have looked at, the value is very good. The food is fine and the staff appears to take extra care of her, the activities are great, housekeeping is on the ball all the time and the maintenance man is superior, he is always doing something like painting. The grounds are really nice too, I was impressed from the time I showed up to check it out and I am still impressed, so they do a good job taking care of that. Overall, we're satisfied with the services and accommodations provided to her since she has been at the community.

I moved my father into Sunflower Gardens because he needed a locked community where he had the freedom to go outside. Everybody is very attentive and friendly when you're there and it does seem they have quite a few activities that keeps the residents busy, just by looking at the calendar it seems like it's really good. I don't have anything negative to mention.

Sunflower Gardens is close to home, and it's good because it's all Memory Care and that's what mom needs. They seem to specialize in it. The administrators were friendly and explained everything well, and we got in on a discount, they waived a fee for us. We had made up our mind and that sealed the deal. It's just been fantastic. If somebody else has a parent with Alzheimer's, I would totally recommend them. I've been telling lots of friends about how terrific I think this is. The cost is high, but it's a good value. Overall the staff does a great job and the community is well made, so we're getting our money's worth. The care staff goes out of their way to care. We've stopped by and didn’t quite understand the schedule, so mom had a plate in front of her, and caregiver sat down and helped her eat a little faster so she could finish up and visit with us privately in her room. They go above and beyond without neglecting anyone else. I brought new jeans for the next day, the caregiver put them on right then and mom was ecstatic. They are all very nice, and their badges tell you how long they've been there. A lot have been there a long time and all are good at their jobs. The management team has been helpful and patient in answering all of our questions. They've been inviting and understanding. They work with people with Alzheimer's all the time, so they know what to expect and are gracious about it. I can say that my mom has eaten all her food as far as I can tell, and she likes it, and she hasn't complained one bit. She was picky in the past, but she enjoys eating well there. The family was there this weekend and they put on a carnival, like a state fair kind of thing, and that was good. Mom has listened to stories, participated in sing-alongs. The staff keeps the residents engaged in activities and not hiding out in their rooms. Everybody is pretty much in one of the activity rooms during the day. They can go to their rooms if they like, but most of the time they're in small groups which I think is good. Boy, they have a packed schedule of activities. I like the phone app they have that tells you what your loved one is doing, it's great. I've never seen the community messy anytime I go there. If anything spills, housekeeping is right on it. Mom's bed has been made every day and her clothes are orderly. I've spoken to Braulio in maintenance, and those guys are very efficient and kind. Whatever Sunflower Gardens is doing, and I hope they keep it up. It's a good plan, a good community, and they're doing a great job hiring the right people.

My mom cannot eat any solid foods anymore but the dining staff are still making sure she is getting nutritious meals. The activities staff do a great job of engaging all of the residents. They are very patient with the residents. They have different family events once a month where we can join in which is nice. The community is always very clean, well kept, inviting and cheerful. The care is awesome. My mom is getting great care and the caregivers are very caring. This community has been a wonderful place for my mom. They have been very caring and nuturing to all the residents.

I think the caretakers do well. They take care of what they need to take care of. They pay attention to the individual needs of my mother and others and seem to be conscientious about it and do a good job. The maintenance is good, the landscaping is nice, the place feels well kept up. My mother seems to think the dining is fine and the service is good. Everything else is satisfactory.
