Symphony at Valley Farms

Management has been respectful and my parents eat the food. The staff are very good about the service. What the community offers for activities is good. The housekeepers come in and keep their room clean. The light in the bedroom went out and maintenance came and fixed it right away. The grounds are maintained perfectly. In terms of their care, there is one lady there now, Tiana, and you couldn't ask for a better person. She is wonderful and cares for them. Andrew, the therapist and Jodi, the extended nurse are wonderful.

The managment always listened and they were fair. If I saw something that would concern me I would go to someone. They always listened and you were never shoved aside and not taken seriously. They took them out on activities and my mom enjoyed that. At Christmas they went to see the Christmas lights. My mom was liking to participate. They also had entertainment that came in that she enjoyed. The maintenance staff were helpful. They have wonderful people there. The employees really care from the top down. Overall, it was a real good place.

I chose Symphony at Valley Farms because of location, she was already on that side of town and the name was intriguing. It's always a hard thing to do for anybody, but when you compare what you are actually getting, the value is there. The first contact we made was with management and she was getting ready to go on vacation, but she still took the time to talk to us, providing empathy and sympathy for our situation. She did an extended walkthrough with my family and you can just tell she genuinely cares about the residents like family, so she is a real asset to that community. My mother is very pleased with the choices and there is a good variety at the dining experience, so dining has been satisfactory. She has mentioned that the housekeeping is faithful to taking out the trash and that even when it's not completely full, they take it anyway, so they're spot on with that. The entrance to the foyer there with the fireplace was so warm and cozy when she got back from the Doctor, plus she has invited visitors over to visit her, so she is real pleased with the building. She says the driver is very polite, helpful and prompt because they were there when she asked for it. They had moved some things around in order to get her down to rehab, so that was very helpful. The nursing staff has made the point of calling and was very detailed with why they called me, so I feel like there is good communication at the community. The first day she had to go, we were so concerned on how it'd go, but after the first day the healthcare staff was able to get her settled in, so it's been great.

Management was all very friendly and knowledgeable, they made my wife and I feel very comfortable. For everything my mom is getting I'd say it's a good value. The dining actually seems to be exceptional and the building is clean and doesn't have a nursing home smell when you walk in, it's a really nice place. The healthcare staff seem to be on the ball, they've called and explained everything to me, they seem to be really good about that and are all really nice. They all seem to be doing great with her.

When I call or I have questions about something that is going on there concerning her care or invoicing, management returns my calls in a quick and prompt manner. I look at her activities calendar quite often and remind her to do things. They make blankets to deliver to the orphanage and she went on the field trip to deliver them. They play bingo and have been making dog biscuits for the rescue shelter and stuff like that. She stays busy and when she gets tired she takes a break and goes to her room. They take them out every other week for lunch dining and they have people coming in for entertainment. They have lots of things to do. The building is maintained very well and is very nice when you walk in. If I have any questions about how things are done or any medication change I just have to ask the care staff. They are responsive to my questions.

The management staff is always present. I am up there a whole lot and they are always present and friendly. My mother loves the food. I see them doing activities. My mom isn't a big activities person. But, I see them offering them every day. If she has needed maintenance they have been right on it. The care staff doesn't have much turnover and are really good to my mom. They build up a rapport with them.

I am satisfied with the services and accommodations that my aunt receives, so I'd say the price of Symphony at Valley Farms is in line with the value. The executive Director is wonderful with to the employees and I am satisfied that the management team is respectful, knowledgeable and accessible. The service, variety of menu and food quality during the dining experience is satisfactory. From what I have seen or posted, they have a lot of activities offered and they seem good. The housekeeping has been good and the maintenance crew responds if she has something that requires service, but I have been satisfied with both, apartment and building maintenance at the community. With regards to her care, the Nurse comes by and helps with whatever needs to be done. Overall, I think they have been very kind and the staff has been helpful with making sure that if she needs care, they make sure she gets it. She has a hearing problem, but they have been very helpful with that, and they help with arranging appointments or making sure that she gets to them, which is really good.

My mother has been at Symphony at Valley Farms for about a year now and it's been a satisfactory experience thus far. The management team is nice and I think the dining experience has been good because she has gained weight since she has been there. I am satisfied with the consistency of service with both housekeeping and maintenance services, so the apartment and building maintenance appear to be in satisfactory conditions. Regarding my mother's care, the healthcare staff is all wonderful and very nice. They're all knowledgeable and responsive to my mother's needs. Overall, I am satisfied with the services provided to her and think she feels safe and comfortable at the community.
