Applewood Place Assisted Living

Everytime I call and asked questions everyone seems to know what they are talking about and give me good feedback. I think it is great, whenever I call with questions, they get done whatever it is that needs to be done.

Meghan does a good job over there, I think what she's done the best is hired good people, the people I've been dealing with have been real good, she was able to put some real strong people in charge of Memory Care and I think she improved it a lot. I think the calendar and all that stuff is fine. Overall it's working out pretty well, it's almost been four years so I guess that speaks for itself.

Management has been great and everyone seems to know what's going on. The building seems really nice. The housekeeping and laundry have been fine, they keep everything clean. In terms of entertainment, there are more activities to do than my mom would want to do. Compared to other places, the price is right in there.

Overall we are satisfied with the care my dad receives here. Management does a pretty good job and the laundry and care has been pretty good. The maintenance has also been pretty good and the building is in good repair.

The management staff has always treated my mother very well. They have been attentive and met her needs. Whenever she has had questions they have always been quickly and correctly answered. I have never found the place dirty or unclean. It has always been very nice. Housekeeping makes stop by my moms place practically every day.

I like my mom's apartment and she loves her place. I think the chef is remarkably creative which I really appreciate. They have very good quality and a very diverse selection on the menu. They certainly know how to throw parties. The holiday party was tremendous and the chef did a splendid job. The activities that I have attended with my mom have been awesome. When I am there, I get her to go and we have a very nice time. They are doing a spectacular job with the activities. Housekeeping does a great job. They take care of her linens daily and they clean her apartment once a week. Her apartment always smells fresh and clean. They do a fine job with the laundry. The building seems to be in good condition and everything is in good working order. I have had to request transportation for my mom and they have always been able to accommodate those requests. The vehicles are in beautiful condition. I love working with the med techs there. Those women and young men are on top of it and contact me with any issues or questions. I know I can take any new scripts to them and they will get filled.

At first I thought it was very expensive but as I compared it to other communities, I realized that their prices were in line with other places. The price was more than fair. Tracy and Megan, in management, were fantastic and very caring. The activities were fantastic and I had a ball. I thought I was on a field trip and did them all. They also had outside activities. The care was excellent for my wife. The caregivers were beyond anything that I anticipated. They were like family and were very nice and comforting when my wife passed away. They were more moved by it than I was because she had become family to them. I think it this a great place.

In regards to housekeeping, I think they do all that really well. The maintenance staff was great. I like how the hallways are so wide and short. It is not like a hotel where you are walking endlessly. I like the whole set up of that place. The care givers were really good to her and really kind so that was nice. They got there when they needed to. When my mother was really failing they were right there and calling me. The great thing about Applewood is the location. Overall, it was a good experience. The people there over the years have been lovely to me and to her.

I've been very pleased, everyone has been very helpful, every time I go in there it's clean and smells good, the staff is friendly, I feel like I have peace of mind. Management has followed up with me to see how I'm doing, really trying to help my mom get acclimated and involved, I see it from the top down, and they take care of the resident and the family. The food smells good and I think there are activities for everyone. The healthcare staff is trying to be very patient, encouraging and watchful. They take steps to make sure my mom is staying safe and busy, socializing, to try and help with things she's struggling with.

We chose Applewood Place because it was close to our house and my wife's aunt lived there for 6 years, but I am been satisfied with the services and accommodations provided to us so far. Personally, I am very close with the management and they're both, knowledgeable and accessible. The quality of the food is fine and I have been participating in most activities offered. Quite frankly, it's been a real learning experience for me in activities because I am amazed at the mind recall and intelligence of most of the residents at the community, but the activities offered are well planned and offered consistently. The housekeeping is doing a good job and the building itself is kept clean. With regards to my wife's care at the community, I am very happy with what is happening there. Overall, we plan on staying at the community and have been pleased with the experience thus far.
