Applewood Place Assisted Living

Over the past three years the caregivers have been very attentive to mom and responsive when I'm there. If I have an issue someone is always there to help. Her main caretaker Andrea calls me Saturday mornings to give me an update and tell me what supplies she needs. I think laundry has been fine and there's plenty of activities. I'm satisfied with the management and the Executive Director, Megan, has always very responsive.

My mother loves it at Applewood Place and I don't worry about her personal safety. The management is very good, the care is pretty good, I am very fond of the servers and when housekeeping comes through her apartment, it seems pretty good. She enjoys the Bingo and art & crafts so in terms of the quality with activities, they're right up her alley. Regarding dining, the food is good and we're satisfied with the menu variety she is offered so it's been a good experience for my mother.

In regards to dining, they try to appeal to all different tastes and I appreciate the fact that they do that. I am very satisfied with the activities. The healthcare staff tries very hard to make sure that she is safe and do what they can within my mom’s requests or desires. There have been some occasional times that she has needed to use her alarm and they responded promptly. I really appreciate the kindness that they give my mom because she can be difficult. They are always very respectful and I appreciate that. I am sure their jobs are not easy dealing with all the different personalities. I appreciate that they are always positive and upbeat. It does feel that it is a very homey environment.

My dad moved to this community because we liked the staff more than anything. We had good connections there and it was in the area we were searching in. It was a nice community and it was relatively new. We connected with Tracy, the development director. She bent over backwards to get us there. The building always looks nice and smells good. Some of the caregivers must have flushed wipes down the toilet and it got clogged. Maintenance replied to that issue quickly. This community is probably better than most communities and I think they do a good job.

My mom moved into this community because my dad was tired of the place she was at previously. Someone recommended this community so we looked at it and decided to move her over. My dad says the food is good and there are activities provided at this community. As far as I know, the housekeeping is good. The building is in good condition and the care my mother is receiving is good. Everything seems good.

A friend of the family recommended it and we lived within a couple miles of the location. Everyone has been very nice. The morale of the employees is positive, which is reflective of good management. Mom has been pleased with the activities offered. She is satisfied with the dining, housekeeping and maintenance departments as well. Overall, it is a clean, professional and very classy place.

Everybody at Applewood has treated me great and my mom seems to like everyone. My mom participates. She doesn't tend to go on the outings but she plays bingo and does the exercises. Every time I go over there I have to pull her out of there. The activity staff are doing their part. The place is clean and the people seem happy and the staff is very courteous. The place is well kept. My mom is happy. She likes the fact that the care staff waits on her hand and foot. I haven't heard any complaints. My mother has no desire to leave whatsoever. She enjoys it. The word about Applewood is that it is a good place to have your folks live.

It is not just how well they take care of the resident but how well they take care of the families as well. My overall experience is pretty close to a ten. Everybody has been responsive to our needs. My parents will say that the food is okay here. They are eating it and that is a good thing. I am very satisfied with the housekeeping and laundry service. It is always clean when I go in there and my parents always seem to be in clean clothes. The building is very nice. The maintenance is outstanding. The care going great, they get the medicine on time and people seem to be real helpful.

Management at Applewood Place seems to be pleasant and on top of things as much as you would hope. My mother is happy with the space, her place is kept clean and the laundry is good as well, I don't see any dirty things. The building is kept up very nice and the grounds are always clean, so the maintenance department is good. She actually pressed some wrong buttons on her remote and the maintenance guys helped her with that, so I am satisfied with their services. Her care is also going well, she is self-sufficient with showering, but they are always on time with her meds and they make every attempt to engage her. I hear them say very sweet things to her, give her moral support and hug her, so they're as affectionate as you'd like them to be. Overall, it's been a good fit for our family and we're satisfied with the services and accommodations she receives.

Since my dad moved in a little over a year ago the housekeeping has been good. It is clean and that is a big job. My dad likes he food. He has no complaints with dining. The care is going pretty well. They all tell me they just love him. He can’t remember any of their names, but he is charming and cute with them. Maintenance does a good job of upkeep with the building and is responsive when you have an issue in the apartment.
