Barrington of Oakley

The staff is so good to us we don't even know what is going on. It is a good value and if gets to be too much we will tell them. I feel safe. I go to bed at night and I don't worry about it. The Barrington of Oakley has a good business going here. The food is good and the service is good. The entertaninment is good. There is always something going on. The care givers come down in the evening and give us our meds and they are very nice and dependable. It is nice and the place is clean. They clean your room. The only thing you are doing is having fun.

I have lived here for over a year and a half. The service and everything is superb. Everyone that works here is very respectful. My family came for my wife’s funeral and they were very impressed with the place. They pay attention to what you ask and are very polite and friendly. We have excellent choices of food, the taste and service is superb. The variety of things that we are exposed to from activities is nice. The housekeeping and maintenance staff clean everything very well. And the care here is better than I expected.

Mom's apartment is just great. She has lived her for over three years. The room is very clean. The housekeepers are always coming in and vacuuming and emptying her trash. She really loves the activities and always has something new to show me that she has made in crafts. She is always talking about the actvities and is very satisfied.

My dad felt safe at Barrington of Oakley. Everything was fine, community is in pretty good shape. Nice building, it has nice rooms and it's a nice place. Dad was really satisfied with housekeeping and the maintenance crew, and we always found management to be accessible and respond well to us. I think, overall, the community is excellent.

I have recommended it, and had friends' parents move in there, as well as friends of relatives. My dad is 91 and he is in the Assisted Living but requires more daily care. He has the pendant and the caregivers are very responsive. My mom is in the Memory Care unit and sometimes needs help with utensils and feeding, and they're very good to do that. With mom, they have good dementia training, they keep good eye contact, don’t startle her, and help her relate well to them. Some will smile, joke, and even sing along with her. Lots of positive reinforcement things. The management is excellent. The monthly buffet is very nice, good shrimp and prime rib, good options and they do a nice job. It’s open to family and friends, the monthly buffet is excellent. The activities are good. They have a vehicle to take them out for plays or other events. They have musicians that perform and a 4:00p.m. daily Happy Hour with piano players and various musicians. They have a very good variety of music, events, bingo, and movies. They offer a variety of movies. Mom and dad's apartments are very clean. You never see any garbage or dirty dishes out. Everything is kept clean, the common areas are kept very nice and it smells good. Pat, the maintenance man, is fantastic. Transportation has also been excellent. The driver, she's very good. You pay for what you get. It's expensive, but I think the quality of care is good.

The management is always attentive and get back to me in a timely manner. I think the activities are really good. The apartment is always clean and the housekeepers are always very nice and take care of things. Overall, I think the price is really good for what she gets.

My mom's been there five years, it's all good. I know the people at the front desk and I know most of the management people. They're always attentive and friendly, so I like them. Luckily I haven’t had to reach out to them, but I have all their numbers and I could reach them if I needed to. The care staff is very attentive. If mom pulls her cord, they are there and do what they need to do. It's all good. I've been doing the Sunday brunches and have had a few lunches with mom. The dining staff is great. The activities are excellent. I read the calendar with her every month and she circles things, and there's always something going on, and I think it's awesome. Housekeeping comes in and cleans her apartment once a week, and in the building I never see any light bulbs out or broken chairs, everything is immaculate. If you can afford it, it's the place to be. I think mom's in one of the better communities in the city.

My uncle just moved in because my parents have lived there for almost five years. I've had good luck with the administrative team. Whenever we've had questions they've always gotten us answers in a timely manner. They're just friendly, and everybody is super-nice and friendly. They always call me back. The dining atmosphere is very nice and the building is always pretty well kept. As far as the entrance, appearance, and landscaping, it's all very nice pretty much all of the time. My parents are very happy with what activities they do have. Mom and dad do like the transportation service. The get a schedule ahead and they can pretty much get where they need to go when they need it. When you compare the price to the conditions, you get what you pay for. They do a really good job. I don’t have any problems with anything that's being done.

The management staff is good at communicating. Overall they have been great. The food is great. They provide a lot of activities. They do a really good job in the memory care unit. My dad had to get new floors when he first moved in which maintenance did for him and it looks good. The building is great. I am impressed that I do not smell any odors. I am pretty happy with his care.

I think most of the nurses aides are pleasant people and my mom likes most of them. I think she's pretty happy with housekeeping, I haven't heard any complaints. They have something going on all of the time and I think that is very nice. They do a lot of outings. Almost every month they have a family event where family can come and very clever ideas for the events. My mom really enjoys the movies up in the theater. I think Casey was a great improvement to the management staff. She has really done a good job of making policies and keeping to them. All in all, it has been a good place for my mom and she seems to be enjoying herself.
