Bella Vista is a blessing to our family!
The entire experience we had with Bella Vista I have always called a blessing. I am glad to see there are organizations that care enough to do it right to take care of our elderly. My dad loved to laugh, tell jokes and be social and all the staff responded to him in a positive way and he truly loved living there. From the time that my father became a resident there he was shy and he was nervous. He had been living in his own home and had recently lost his wife and was feeling very vulnerable. They assigned him an ambassador to help introduce him to other people. They made sure he never ate a meal alone and the activities director worked with him on the activities. It was an amazing transformation and they made him feel like that was where he belonged. I can't say enough good about the administration and the leadership of the community. There were plenty of choices of food in the dining room and my father never had any complaints about the food. The people who served the food made them feel like they were going to the family table. The servers were very personal and would learn everyone's names, they would ask about their grandchildren and bring that information back the next time they saw them. I don't know where they found these people but they really care about doing a job well. The activities director there really pays attention to what the people want and what they are capable of doing. She had a variety of things for the ones in a wheelchair to the ones that could do outings. She really did a good job and paid attention to the details. They housekeeping department did a wonderful job of helping him keep everything clean and organized. They took it even farther and asked him what his favorite treat was and he told her ice cream cake. The very next time she came she left him a note to look in the freezer and she had left him a piece of ice cream cake. They truly go out of their way to make a person's day not by just doing their job and cleaning but by actually talking to and getting to know the people. My father's comfort was their greatest concern. It was first class nursing care and caregiving care there.
