Bishop Place Senior Living

I think the community is wonderful, I made the best choice. Management is very knowledgeable and I think the food looks great, my husband really enjoys it. The housekeeping and maintenance are wonderful and the healthcare services are awesome. The staff is responsive, they're right there to meet his needs, I'm very satisfied.

I think it is the best place I have been in. I have never had any problem with any of the staff. I have been assisted in more ways than one since I started here four years ago. I have my food brought into my room and it is tasty and very nicely arranged. They do a good job of trying to get people involved in activities. The housekeeping staff are very good and I don't know how to thank them. They come and do it when I am not around. The building is very well maintained.

I've been here a year and Bishop Place is outstanding. I am certainly happy with the value. The special affairs are really, really good. I have a wonderful housekeeper. I couldn’t ask for anything better. If anything is undone, I tell her, and she immediately does it. She's very, very good. I've brought four people in here. I just tell people to come in and take a look at my apartment to see how big it is, and they've been impressed. I got four people in and one gentleman who's on the waiting list. I've never made as good a decision as this has been. It's wonderful.

We've overall been happy with the services my mother-in-law receives. I think the care givers have been attending to details. We ask them to help her check off days on her calendar and they are helping her keep track of things. We appreciate that attention to detail. I think she's satisfied with the food and some activity is always going on. Everything is nice and clean every time I go in. When I talk to people at other places they have not such good care and they pay more, it makes me realize we've got it good here.

I wish it was cheaper but I can't really complain with the quality of the apartment and everything. I guess I would consider it a fair price. The food is good in the dining room. They are doing a good job with housekeeping and laundry. I left them a note on how often I wanted the bed covers changed and today when I walked in to visit Dad they were changed. My Dad doesn't participate in the activities, but I pop my head in once in a while and see what they are doing. The director does a great job. She really cares and spends a lot of time with them. I see her on the weekends here passing out cookies. She is a gem.

We have no complaints about it. We are satisfied. There are so many activities. Everybody seems to be really happy with them. My wife runs the book club. The housekeeper who is here now does a super job and has a nice personality. We gladly came here and we wouldn't go anywhere else. We get good value for our money. We have a two bedroom apartment and the units are quite large compared to other retirement homes. My wife loves the kitchen. She loves to cook.

I think we are getting a great value for what we are paying. We go over and occasionally eat meals there. The food is always very good and the staff is excellent. They always call the residents by name and mom has no complaints about it. I know they have a lot of good activitie. Housekeeping does a great job in keeping things up for her. Maintenance comes right in and helps as quickly as they can. She had an appointment this week that we didn’t even know about but the transportation took care of her and got her there. The care is very good and the caregivers are very attentive. We needed them to take her heart rate more often and they jumped right on it and did it.

I chose this community for my dad mostly by what I hear from word of mouth. Management has handled all of our questions beautifully. My dad is doing great and looks a lot healthier since we got there so I know they're helping with his food and controlling his diabetes. The food is good; we've eaten there a couple of times with my dad. From what my dad has told me, he is enjoying the activities a lot, especially the different varieties of activities. Unfortunately it's expensive but it's well worth it at this point. I don't have to worry, everything is being taken care of and it's been a huge help to our family.

I think it is really good. It is very well managed. The activities are really good. For my mom…she has never lived in the city and she is a farm person. She wasn't used to joining clubs but they seem to be encouraging her to join more. She started a book club. They really seem to be trying to expand her and there are a lot of activities for her to get involved in. Generally, the cleaning is pretty good. They come once a week. In regards to the transportation, she is in a wheelchair and one time they were doing a social thing the driver changed the van to the one that is wheelchair accessible so she could go. I thought that was really nice. The nurses and the help all seem to be concerned and right there.

I suppose if someone were to figure out what the rent and the food and all that is considered in the price it is probably within realm. I don't think you can do anything else with what is around so I think it is fair. They are doing what they can for a handful of older folks. She talks about going to the activities and I think they are doing well. The housekeepers do a good job. Whenever I have been there she has had plenty of clean laundry and the apartment itself seems clean. They come and get the garbage. Whenever my mom has a problem the maintenance staff are generally close to being right there. When we have had to reach out to them it has been a three legged stool with her doctor, the staff and myself and we all work good together.
