The Breakers at Edgewater Beach

I think it was a fabulous value at The Breakers. Everyone was wonderful. My friend really enjoyed the food very much and the servers were excellent. The housekeeping and laundry services were excellent and there have been no issues with the laundry at all, it was just super. He used the transportation a couple of times and he was very pleased with it. I wish I could move in there myself. Our whole family would like to thank them and we could believe how positive of an experience it was all the way around.

I am satisfied with the services and accommodations I receive at The Breakers, so I feel safe and comfortable at the community. I haven't had much contact with management, but we had a real cold spell and we received a memo urging us not to go out, which advocates concern for the people. Regarding dining, the most recently hired wait staff has been more savvy and the food, along with menu, has been satisfactory. In terms of activities, they are the highlight at The Breakers because they're extremely good. The staff there won the last three inter-company awards, but they continue to do an outstanding job with planning trips and keeping us off the streets so to speak. I am satisfied with the consistency of housekeeping services provided to me because the staff comes in to do the bed, clean the bathroom and kitchen, with scrubbing the floor and dusting the apartment. While the maintenance services are based on priority, the maintenance staff is very responsive and the apartment maintenance has been satisfactory as well. Regarding transportation, I heard that in the past when there was a new lease, a new bus would just appear, but this time they consulted the bus driver and some of the people in transportation to get some input on how to design the new bus, so that was a real positive change. Overall, it's been a pleasant experience for me at the community.

I had a little sticker shock for the cost of services in The Breakers at Edgewater Beach, but then once I shopped around a bit more, the prices are standard, if not lower. The staff has always been really nice, so it's actually been a great value with regards to the services and accommodations for my father. Being an adult child and helping my dad manage things, management was really helpful answering my questions and if I needed to add or remove services a la carte, it was never a problem with tweaking his care plan, so they have always been very accommodating. Regarding dining, my dad feels happy and totally satisfied with it. He has mentioned that with the wait staff that some people recognize him and know where is table is, so that is very nice. Despite my efforts, I cannot get my dad involved, but it seems like the community has a lot of nice things offered for the residents. In terms of cleanliness, the apartment has been good and I have never noticed anything that seemed gross or out of place. With the maintenance services, there has been a couple times my dad has required some help in his unit and I understand the staff can't drop everything to help, but they always get around to it and are always courteous, so it's been a good experience for him and I am very happy with the community.

In the two years I’ve lived here, I particularly like the concierge department that is super helpful to me. They're respectful and they help me, and answer my questions. Christine, the Programming Assistant, is a very good exercise teacher. Her classes are so fun, and she and Jessica are fun people and fun to be with. There's far too many activities for me to take part in all. There's activities regularly and always something for people to enjoy. Some of the writing groups and discussions groups are very interesting. I have been on the community van on some really nice trips and programs. The drivers always seem quite good. Good drivers who are helpful and careful. If you make your request known, it might manifest. Housekeeping keeps my apartment certainly clean, and I think the maintenance people are very sharp, and helpful too. Kevin has been surprising, I think they are smart and know what they're doing. The building is so old, but it's beautiful and they keep it going. The temperature is quite comfortable, even with the cold weather, like the Polar Vortex last week. It's not the community, but I use Open Arms to take blood pressure. And Rachel, who runs that service, is a very likeable person and efficient. She remembers everybody's name and needs. That's a wonderful service. I like that it's a mixed community of people from all walks of life. I commend the management for that. I think it's a good value, I am very grateful to be here.

The price is worth it to my dad for what he gets compared to what he pays. My dad and his girlfriend enjoy going down to the dining room and they like the activities that they participate in. Housekeeping comes every Friday to clean his apartment.

My mother's been there for eight or nine years now and the place seems to be run pretty well. I don’t have to worry about here. It's Independent, but they keep an eye on her, I like that. I couldn’t be happier. She really likes the building and it's 10 minutes from my house so I am there 3 days a week. Her apartment has a great southwest view. Her room was warm even during the Polar Vortex, gets plenty of sunlight. It's a safe environment, it's a nice place. Her place is always clean. I always seem the maintenance guys running around, the common areas are kept clean. I've had some people move in that I've told about it.

I've been really happy with The Breakers, they're good. Management seems to keep tabs on all of the different residents and they seem to be very available. They have an idea of what's going on in my mom's day to day activities and life and I appreciate that. My mom really likes the food there and they have a good range of activities for the residents. For what they offer, they probably out value some of the other facilities that we've used in the past or are familiar with.

In the two months I have been here I think management does a good job, they are very approachable and knowledgeable. The dining serivce is wonderful and there are more than enough activities.

I chose The Breakers at Edgewater Beach because I knew someone who had been here and so far, I feel that I am getting a good value. The price is fine, I am satisfied with the services provided and I definitely feel both, safe and comfortable, at the community. The food is good, very good, and the people who work here as waiters and waitresses are wonderful. We receive a calendar of activities and there is definitely enough offered here, so the activities are satisfactory. I like my housekeeper a lot because she does a good job and I have had a few dealings with the maintenance guys, so they're all great too. Overall, it's been a satisfactory experience thus far and I have had no complaints.

I moved in after getting a recommendation from friends. The food is okay and the management has been respectful. I am satisfied with maintenance. I’m happy with my apartment, and I feel I’m getting a fair value.
