The Breakers at Edgewater Beach

The building looks great and we think the value is exceptional, to get the level of service that they have it would cost twice as much here in California, if not more, so we're very pleased. We are in California so we're not tuned into the day to day operations at the Breakers but as far as we know it's been really good for her and fine with us.

My aunt has a lot of enthusiasm in going to meals. When a resident has been in the hospital and returns the staff is wonderful in getting meals delivered to the room for them. They have a lot of variety in the activities. They make efforts to promote the activities and make sure the residents know about them. The ones she goes to she really enjoys. Her room gets cleaned once a week on Wednesdays and the lady is very lovely. She goes out of her way to help out with things even if it isn't part of her normal job. The diversity there is a healthy thing. I think that is very good. The people who work there really seem to care about the residents. They enjoy their jobs.

I think the management is very good. I think the dining room servers are good and there is always something to eat, I have no problems with the meals here. I have no complaint with the activities, there's always something for somebody. Occasionally I will use their shuttle system, that's pretty good, it's easy to schedule. Maintenance is very good, they keep the building up very nicely, and they're okay when working on my room. Housekeeping is pretty fair somebody always comes in to try and help you. They keep me safe and comfortable, and the overall value is fair.

We decided to look into a Senior Lifestyle community where I would have activities and interaction with other people during the day. Management is excellent; they have been very open and warm to us. They've taken a lot of opportunities to interact with us personally and so I really appreciated that, and that's all the staff. The staff is just wonderful there and the management team is great too, they've taken a liking to us and have been very supportive. I love the food, I think it's great, and I think the service is wonderful. I'm really interested in the exercise classes and the yoga class, the water aerobics, and we've gone to a couple of the movies too and I've enjoyed those. We've had excellent experience with the maintenance and housekeeping services, it's beautiful, and it’s just kept in beautiful condition. I can't believe how the maintenance staff keeps it so nice. We're just really happy with the move that we made and we're very satisfied there.

My friend has repeatedly told me that things are very well managed there and everyone has been very helpful. I spoke with Dave several times who was filling in for someone else who arranges the move ins and he was fabulous. My friend is very, very pleased with the dining, he said the quality of the food is good, the dining room is beautiful, and that they take really good care of you, the service too, as well as the quality of food and beauty of the setting, he did comment on all three. The housekeeping has been consistent and thorough and maintenance is fabulous. He used the transportation services twice and he really liked that, he's very pleased that there's something reliable and available to him because he likes to get out. He thinks it's wonderful to be able to take the bus and loves having the service; it's worked out real well for him when he's taken it. I want to thank all of them so much for being there and doing the work they do because for those of us who love a senior who can't manage on his or her own anymore, it's really a fabulous thing that they can have that quality of life that they're able to provide and I really mean that, it's wonderful.

It was time for me to move somewhere more secure that has an elevator. It's in my old neighborhood and my daughter is still close to me. The sales guy is tops in my book. I had three meetings with him, he answered all my questions. He really knows this community, we hit it off, nothing he told me would make me hesitate choosing this community. I felt comfortable with him; he's friendly, never made me feel like I was being sold to. Estelle, my moving coordinator was stellar; boy did she make things easy for me. They have a lot of activities, and I think our new dining room manager is doing his best. Anything roasted has been really good, pot roast, and roasted pork. There is one dessert, a bread pudding with cranberries and raisins, if that was served every night I'd break my diet. I adore my housekeeper. I've only had her here twice and she's a sweetheart. She even threw out my kitty litter bag, she's super sweet. Maintenance keeps the place up well. I am very happy; it feels like anything I need is going to get done. It feels like if I have any physical issues, someone will take care of it. I feel safe and secure, and the value for the money is excellent. I totally love my apartment, it's one of the reasons I moved in. My layout is perfect for me, I have no complaints. I am really pleased to be here.

I'd say the value is fair. The servers in the dining room are good and always looking to improve. The community offers plenty of activities that keep my grandmother busy and she enjoys them. My grandmother also enjoys the transportation service. Any bit of maintenance that has been required, they've been very quick to get it done.

Management seems to take an interest in the residents and try to help them in any way that they can. They explain things. The food is excellent and the service is very good. They try to accommodate you in your requests as well as they can. The activities are very nice. They seem to try to accommodate us with special activities. The housekeeper that I have now is excellent. She seems to go out of her way to do anything extra when she can. I had a housekeeper that wasn't as thorough as this young lady is. The area is usually kept as clean as possible and maintenance tries to attend to issues as soon as possible. Transportation was very good when I used them. I enjoy being here.

I am very well satisfied with this community. Everything in the kitchen is well prepared and very tasty. Everything about the food is very good. I enjoy the activities. They are very informative and enjoyable. I especially enjoyed the halloween party they recently had. Everything in the housekeeping is just fine and maintenance is quite good.

I can’t complain about The Breakers. I've been here since April; and everything's been wonderful. I have a two bedroom, two bath apartment, so I guess that's why. The apartment was remodeled, new flooring, new carpet, new tile, new everything. I have a great housekeeper and the maintenance team is good. The activities are excellent; they have all kinds of fun stuff. Food is good, lots of variety, and good servers. They have a lot of choices. If we don’t order off the entrees on the right we have options on the left. The managers are very good here; they just do a good job. I really like it.
