Carriage Court of Kenwood

I think it is worth everything he is getting. Papaw loves the food and brags about it all the time. The housekeeping is wonderful and he has not complained about the laundry losing anything, he is pleased. The building is beautiful. He is using the transportation for doctors appointments and shopping. The care staff take very good care of him.

My mother lives at the community and we're perfectly happy with the accommodations provided. For the value we're getting, everything around the building looks perfectly fine. We get good communication from the healthcare staff and they're respectful. The place has the right activity ingredients going for what my mom needs with what is going on in her life. The dining is very well, wait service is as good as it can be and they have her as healthy as ever, which is the goal. I have always found the management to be accessible and responsive. Overall, she feels safe, comfortable and content.

I am satisfied with the with services and accommodations provided to my wife at the community. The care is very good and transportation has always worked very well. They do an excellent job on the building and it's a very pleasant surrounding they have. They keep up regularly with housekeeping and activities are generally available for people that want to participate. I find the management very helpful, respectful and responsive. She absolutely feels safe and comfortable. Overall, my wife is in a good place for her needs. I am pleased with the arrangement and I'm happy she is there.

My mom loves the bus driver, Lisa. She is very attentive to my mom. The maintenance is great for my mom. She has had one issue, and it was responded to. My mom likes the activities. She engages in and enjoys the activities hat they do. She loves the food and the service. I have no complaints with the management. They are very responsive.

They have a lot of activities for them. They have private rooms for them to feel more comfortable. The aides are very helpful and he likes them. On the whole, he is satisfied with the ones around him. He thinks it is his house and is comfortable. The cleanliness of the apartment is pretty good. The caregivers treat him really well.

Dad is always happy with his meals, especially the chocolate ice cream for dessert. The management is very kind and responsive. I asked her ten thousand different questions, and she maintained her very helpful and kind attitude throughout all the questions. I feel comfortable with the management staff. Looking at the calendars that are posted in the elevators when I visit, the activities look interesting and varied. They have games and craft things. I wanted to go to a craft thing myself. The care staff are very pleasant and very polite and seem patient with mom and dad. The building looks nicely maintained it looks nicely decorated for the fall season. I think it looks great and has a homey touch.

We have been really satisfied with the management because they have been really helpful, timely and answer all your questions. The staff on her floor are sweet as can be and talk with her to make sure she is okay. Everybody is respectful, friendly and willing to help.

I’m very happy with what they are doing for her. They are very responsive and I wouldn’t want her anywhere else.

Shelly in sales and Stephanie in Marketing started our interest in moving my brother in. We found everyone to be friendly, positive, and caring. In terms of value I think, based on what I've seen, there's a lot going on, they have a lot of activities. We met the Executive Director. He always says hi and is very helpful. I feel people are trained well and have good values, I feel they do a very good job. When I call and leave a message I get a call back within a reasonable time. They always help out. I've eaten there myself and the dining service is good, attentive, and friendly. I know he goes down for activities like bingo and the speakers. I think they do a great job at Carriage Court with their activities. The quality of service is much better than his last community. I wouldn’t hesitate to give a very strong recommendation to Carriage Court at this time. I will say at this time, a nice little surprise is the service he's getting every day. Annie, in charge of Housekeeping, impressed me. I think my brother is already spoiled she makes his bed every day. She told me she's been there seven years and loves her job. The people there are helpful, full of smiles, and do what they can to make sure customers are satisfied. It’s a good value for the money he's paying.

I chose Carriage Court of Kenwood for my brother because it was newer and everything about the experience was just bright, including the dining room, activities and his room. Also, they provide hot cookies and they have Medicaid waiver beds available whereas some communities don't. The only comparisons I have are his other 2 previous communities, so while all 3 are comparable, Carriage Court is the real value. In his previous communities, rooms weren't upgraded in years, the bathrooms weren't compatible for wheelchairs and while I believe they were $1000 cheaper than Carriage Court, there is still no comparison. With regards to management, everyone has just been sincerely friendly and accommodating. They have been not only been accommodating, they have been accommodating in a pleasant way by answering all of our questions and honoring all of our requests. In terms of upkeep, the building is 20 years old and while I thought it was only 10 to 12 years old, it's a nicely kept community coming from an old operations guy. The maintenance man mounted his flat screen TV and also helped put a door stopper on the bathroom door because it kept hitting the television, so that was satisfactory. With the aides, I told Sherry Atkins that first impressions are important, but it's really the ongoing impression that makes the difference, so with being there almost every day, I have nothing but good things to say. In terms of cleanliness, I know the housekeeping is once a week, but I do also know that the aides kind of pick up on a daily basis too. While I haven't done laundry inventory, I don't think they've lost any of his clothes and I haven't been there when he didn't have any clean clothes so far. With activities, the Activity Director has been there 14 years and I don't think my brother has missed an activity yet. They have art classes and I was even there one night when they had music. My brother has also been to Bingo and I know they have family nights once a month, so they do a great job and I feel like the Activity Director goes out of her way to make sure everyone is pleased. Per the dining experience, my brother has been enjoying the food and if their menu for the day isn't something he would like, they make exceptions. He likes fresh fruits with breakfast and lunch, so they've accommodated that for him, which was been satisfactory. Overall, he is very happy with the community and with his care, so far it's very good.
