Carriage Court of Kenwood

I am satisfied with my father's stay at Carriage Court of Kenwood because it's far more reasonably priced than where my mother is at. The entertainment and family activities that they provide at this community are great because it forces family to visit their loved ones and they have a lot of things offered. Where my mom is, they don't have any outside activities and I know they go out once or twice here, so the activities are satisfactory. Regarding his care, the caregivers know what his needs are, there is enough of them and they do an outstanding job with his medications, because he has a lot of them. When I go out of town, the provide transportation services to take him to the Doctor and in terms of housekeeping, his room is kept clean. The one thing that I noticed in certain communities is that there's an odor of urine, but I don't get that at this community, so they keep everything clean. Maintenance helped setup up his TV because I can't do those kinds of things and they helped him get new channels in, plus the community is really clean. In regards to the dining experience, my dad likes to eat a lot and he has no complaints about the food, so he'd say it's good because he has also put on a few pounds being there. Regarding management at the community, I have no problem whatsoever with them. They always return calls, emails and concerns are addressed, so overall I am very pleased with Carriage Court. He likes it at the community and considers it his home, so I have absolutely already recommended it to others.

Things seem to be going well. In reagards to the maintenance, I don't think I have ever seen any issues. Things get done pretty quickly. The nurses are good. The aides are good and there is one Kiara who is great. She is good with my dad. I think the value is good and for what you pay you get a lot. My dad is happy and that is what really matters.

My mom has lived at Carriage Court of Kenwood for 10 years now and I think they have worked very well with us in the past. I know the community has a new team currently, but I haven't had any issues and I have spoken with the new Nurse Manager over the last couple of days, who was very helpful. My mother is there on a passport program, so her fee is very minimal and it's beyond better than anything she has ever had, so the value has been satisfactory. I don't eat at the community all the time, but when I do, the dining experience is always nice and my mom never complains about the menu variety. We absolutely love the Activity Director and she has been someone I communicate the most. She is really good with engaging the residents and they all seem to love her since she takes them out to different places. Housekeeping comes in to clean and the maintenance people are great to work with. Since my mother is short, the very first thing they did for her was adjust the shelving to her height, so the maintenance people are good and in general, the building and common area always looks nice. Overall, I am satisfied with the services she is provided with and she feels safe at the community, so I am satisfied with her comfort there.

I really like the place. Everybody there is nice and kind. I think the person who runs the activities portion of the programming gives it her all. She is always running around, always there and present engaging people. The effort is noticeable and the variety is good. My mom is very happy there and she can't verbalize to me why. I will say that everyone must be being kind to her on a continual basis because I have had no issues of her being unhappy in the year and half she has been there.

I think the managers are responsive. They send out emails explaining things that are going on. They have music and games in activities. Back in memory care they have artwork and I think that is nice. They have some people come in and entertain for them and they like that. They seem to be on top of the laundry and also my mom's room as far as keeping that clean. Her bed is always made and the bathroom is neat and clean. The aides and nurses are very good with her care.

I think the value is in tune with what is offered. I think it is fair. I know they are under new management. He seems to be doing pretty well. He is very friendly. He seems likes he is doing a good job. I have talked with him and I like him. They have an art class and they try to get them to color in activities. They will try to get them to do some seasonal type activities. There is a guy from the Symphony that comes and plays his violin is really good. The guy that comes in and plays the piano is really funny. The building seems to be pretty well kept. Someone tries to decorate outside and they plant flowers in summer. I love his aide, Maryanna, she is wonderful.

I really like that Tyler has an "open-door" policy. If I have any concerns, I feel extremely comfortable going to him and talking to him. The dining service is wonderful. They're friendly and very accommodating. I love their activities. Melissa, the Activities Director, is fabulous. They're always doing something special. They go to lunches, movies, go on scenic rides, and they bring in entertainers. Brandy, the Health and Wellness Director, is great. She follows-through and makes sure to get back to me and stay updated.

My mom lived in Carriage Court for over two years. I think they were wonderful, very caring, and really made sure the residents were busy and happy. I think all moms’ needs were met. I think for the most part the leadership has been wonderful. Tyler is the director now, and he has been on top of everything. We love their food. They had a dinner for families, every other month and it was wonderful. My mom loved the food there. They always had, when they had family dinners, a magician one time or singers. They were always good, lasted the right amount of time, an hour. She loved the Christmas tree decorating, bingo, and games. She enjoyed the activities and the people who did them were great. The maintenance team was pretty good and the building always looked nice, well decorated, and taken care of. I love Carriage Court, I really do.

We are quite satisfied with the accommodations and the attentiveness of the staff. The management communicates well. When I call and ask about stuff I am given the information I'm wanting. They have always been there to answer my questions. The lady at the front desk is quite friendly. I see the different menus they have posted out in the area from dining and they seem to be quite good and nourishing. They do offer a lot of activities. They have crafts, activities and field trips. My aunt really enjoys the field trips. Anytime we have asked maintenance to do something it has been taken care of in a timely manner. Whenever we have needed to have something moved or adjusted they have always been right there. The care staff they have there have always been very careful. In the past when she has fallen, they were good about stopping in and checking on her. They seem to go out of their way to double check on her If something comes up I get calls. I also get a call about once a month with how she is doing.

A social worker helped me choose Carriage Court two years ago for my husband and I looked at other places. I feel like I came out ahead considering the other places, we’re satisfied with the value. Basically I was impressed with the building when I came over for the initial tour. I like the way my husband's apartment is and from what I see with my husband's room I would say the housekeeper is excellent. Laundry is being done, and my husband's clothes are cleaned once a week. I had some questions and went to the Memory Care Director and they're always answered, things are taken care of. I have no complaints with his care. I just like the way they are back there, the aides and nurses. The aides really treat the people back there very well. The activities are excellent back in Memory Care. They do things to get them moving, like hitting a balloon or ball back and forth. The food is top of the line for him. If there are any accidents, maintenance or housekeeping always comes, they are on the ball. I would definitely recommend it; my husband is safe and comfortable there.
