Carriage Court of Lancaster

He has lived at Carriage Court for a year, and the managers are excellent. They are very nice people, very, very kind. It takes a special person, they know what they're doing and are nice. It's an excellent value. I have a feeling that someday I will be there some day too.

Management has answered all my questions and from what my mother tells me though the food she eats is really good. She loves to go down and play bingo. Last week she was painting and she is pretty good about doing what they do. She isn't very social but I try to explain that the activities will help her a lot. I love her apartment and she likes it. Her room is spotless when I go in there. It is very clean. Maintenance set her chair and TV up. They are really good about that. The building is beautiful. The caregivers have been amazing.

They have gotten back to us really fast and answered my questions about my sister. My brother in law has never complained about the food. I never see anyone pushing it away. I like the front porch there and think they do a good job with the maintenance of the building. I have never seen or heard any of the caregivers or nurses be disrespectful or talk down to them. They are sensitive to their needs and I like that. I am always pleased to go in there. If I have to go to a nursing home that is where I want to go.

They have great activities like wheelchair bingo and exercise. The building is well maintained and I think she feels safe and comfortable there.

The food is great. They have good food she is pleased with and it's varied. They have good activities. The housekeeping is immaculate. All the care givers respond well to her, she loves all of them, we're very happy with that end of things. I'd recommend them to anybody.

The common areas are kept nice. They have improved the building greatly. TThe nursing care has been wonderful. Anytime anything happens they give me a call.

The management staff has always been polite and professional when I have needed to deal with them for anything. I think the lady that does the activities is outstanding. She really tries to do different things. My mom doesn't always participate in everything. She offers them the chance to go out to eat once a week. Mom loves that. She enjoys using the transportation for outings. She enjoys the musical and church events when they have them in. She likes the lady that comes around and paints their fingernails. The maintenance staff keeps the place looking really good. She seems to like everybody and everyone is very helpful and she appreciates that.

I'd say the food is good and they give them a good variety of options. She doesn't participate in a lot of activities but they do offer a lot. In the time that she has been there the activities have grown. Anytime I go her room is always clean. Any issue she has had maintenance has been right there. It is a beautiful place. I am very impressed in the fact the care staff calls me as much as they do to keep me informed of what is going on. She is very safe there and very well cared for there and they all seem to really like her.

We went through and toured other places. They were bigger but this one is more family oriented. It is like you are going to visit family and not a care facility. They know who you are and who you are there for. They will have tea and lemonade for you. The management is always ready to help with questions we have or whatever concerns we have. Whatever your concerns are they take care of them right there. The food is like down home cooking. It is not like something out of the box. It is like food you would have at home.

If anything comes up with my mom a nurse calls me. They definitely have their eyes on mom and know what she is doing. If she's not feeling well they reach the doctor, if she gets new meds they call me before filling the prescription. I think the food is good, good quality and portions, and they are very timely with meals. I get the calendar every month. There's church service, bingo, movie night, and outings like to the mall. Room cleaning and laundry is good and the outside grounds are always well maintained, grass is cut. I think the management team is doing a great job, they've really helped me. I have had some issues here recently and they provided help to me. I think they're doing fine. They have good security, everything is good. We love it there, it's close to my house, and the price right now is very fair.
