Elkwood Assisted Living

Elkwood has been very, very good with following the wishes of the family. I commend them with the job they do. I think they do a really good job with personalizing the stay and I think they really do a good job with engaging their residents. They have their residents best interests at heart.

My mom loves it there and there are no worries. The management takes good care of the people there. In regards to the dining and the food, they have some things that my mom really, really likes and the servers are very good to her. The housekeeping is good and anything that my mom needs the maintenance staff is right there. We have had absolutely no complaints about the care. The care givers volunteer to come and help them even we they don't have to.

There is one other Assisted Living in this town and in talking with people from there, I think we have them beat by quite a bit. I think for an Assisted Living, they go above what they are supposed to do. My apartment is one of the farthest away from the nurses station and they still respond pretty quick when I push my button. The help here is pretty nice and friendly and they try to help us all they can. I am very comfortable with management. I can walk right into the boss' office and say any complaint I've got. They have really improved activities in the past year. I think they do a fantastic job. We go out to eat at least once a week. Every few weeks we go for an outing. We do those trips really often. They have a bus available two to three days a week to take us to the doctor. One day a week, we go out. We have an amazing driver as well.

We are satisfied with everything and they are certainly following the directives given to them. So far managemnet has been very cooperative. They certainly have a variety of activities. I don't participate in everything but the Activities Director does a great job. We have two maintenance men and if I ask for anything, they are right there. The building is well maintained. The servers in the dining room start serving on one end one day and the other end the next day. They have it worked out to try and make everyone feel special.

Any questions I have they have answers. They know what they are talking about. I am always seeing them out in the community center playing bingo or doing stuff. The building is always clean and kept up.

The community receptionist gets things done, and when you go to her, you know she can take care of it. My mother is happy with the help when getting dressed and with medications. The staff is responsive. Everything is maintained, and she calls the maintenance men by their first names. Housekeeping is going pretty well, and she is always happy with the girls that help in her room. The activities for residents seem well planned and appropriate for the population. She feels comfortable. Teir transportation works well, and the management is pretty good too. Overall, I'd say the value is good. She is happy with her apartment, and she has acclimated well.

The maintenance team comes as soon as she calls. The building looks beautiful. Management is exceptional. The food is good. We feel this one is a great value for all that she gets. The transportation services are flexibile. Just the other day, her doctor's office called and changed her time, and they adjusted and were able to take her earlier than she originally scheduled. The building is extremely well maintained. The housekeeping is excellent, and they come every Thursday. My mom is enjoying the quality and variety of food. She has told me that she has been very pleased. The management team is exceptional. When we came to this community, it has been a great experience since we walked in the door. This is an exceptional community.

Management is pretty darn good. The food looks good and my mom loves it, there are a lot of great activities here and the building looks good.

They really do take good care of my mother. She likes all the activities and participates. She likes the food there and we go often to be there with mom. We see how they take care of her and check on her. They get her everything she needs. They really show that they care.

Management does a real good job, the dining service is good and the caregivers do a pretty good job and are very friendly. The housekeeping is excellent and the laundry is good too. The maintenance is good and I like my apartment just fine.
