Fullerton Gardens

We're very pleased with what we observed here, the staff is excellent and I like the number of staff, it's adequately staffed. I really like that every time I walk through those doors, whether it's me, my sister or wife, before I get to my mom, someone already approaches me and tells me how my mom is doing, that is extremely reassuring instead of me having to go around and ask how she's doing, everyone knows. It's not just one people; it's several that will give you a report. It's just a very comforting thing, that's appreciated on my end. Any time you need to access someone, they're easily available, someone calls me back within 30 minutes, I appreciate that. The quality of the food is good and there are always activities going on there, they have people coming in on Sunday, it's really a pleasant environment. It's always clean, my mom is always clean and her clothes are always clean. Unlike some of the other facilities I visited, there's no smell. It's a pleasant environment there. For the quality of service, attention to detail, the staffing, it's all reasonable in my book.

The staff is very good and the activities are great. All the staff members I work with are very respectful, as a team they do very well.

The management seems to have done a good job as long as my dad has been there, over three years now. They're good with answering our questions and letting us know when anything comes up. The caregivers seem to be pretty up on everything. Any time we have questions if they don’t have the answer, they find out for us. They make sure to check on him, follow up on any concerns or issues. They're always nice with all the residents. From what I've seen they offer a lot of activities and they try to get everybody involved. There's a good variety, they do a good job with that. Housekeeping keeps things clean, and we've been happy with laundry too. Maintenance does a great job with the outside gardens. The interior, it looks like they're always keeping it clean, decorate it for the holidays, and keep it up. It's a single story building, no worries about elevators or stairs, and it's very easy to get around. My wife says it's clean and there's never any bad smells. It is expensive, but you get what pay for. We're getting what we pay for and they're doing a good job. Dad's apartment has the right amount of space for him. I feel he's safe and comfortable there. We have recommended it to other people looking. Being a Memory Care lockdown community not everybody needs it, but if someone did, we'd definitely recommend it. We're pleased that it's clean, the staff is friendly, and they really seem to care. They have that special torch and really care for people, and do the best they can.

We've had a good experience with my father at Fullerton Gardens. All the staff there has so much compassion and patience. They call my father by name, including his family members and they're responsive, so I have a lot of admiration for them. I see management on the floor a lot, so I like that they interact with the residents and they aren't standoffish to family members. My dad loves the dining, the servers have a lot on their hands, but they're very friendly and are very patient. They have an excellent variety of activities available; the Activity Director tries to get residents involved for whatever timespan that is available. The housekeeping is good and maintenance was very responsive when he had the air condition problem, they got right on it, so that was great. The healthcare staff is patient and keeps us well informed as to what is going on, they do what we expect with no problems or issues so it really has been positive all around for my father.

The management is very good, they're very polite and organized. The activities are ongoing all the time and I think that's wonderful, a lot of music and singing. It's a very comfortable atmosphere. The housekeepers are always mopping, I love it, it's very very sanitary, and my sister's room is very neatly organized. They decorate when they have festivities or special events and all that, maintenance is always doing something, I always see them out there doing what they have to do and that's very nice. The med techs are right on top of everything and are very informative when something happens, they always call me and let me know and I'm so appreciative of that. The staff is very caring and nurturing over there, they're wonderful.

I've been there and the food looks delicious and the activities look like fun. My mom used used the transportation services once to go to the dermatologist and we loved it, the service was fantastic, the guy was great. I see the maintenance staff all the time when I'm there and everything seems to be running and there's always someone there fixing stuff. All in all, her room is clean and the activities look fun.

Since me mom has lived at the community I think the food seems to be very good, I've come in and sat with her several times and the food always looks good. They seem to be really on top of who needs help and who doesn't and who can eat solid food, they seem very good about it. To me it looks like they get different stuff every day and it's always something tempting and tasty so I would say they've got a good variety going on. The activities staff try to engage anybody who's engagable, they have lots of fun stuff and activities that they can participate in if they want. They're also very individually oriented, if there's somebody who likes to do something, they try to make sure they can do it. The people on the floor have been great, they're very nice and sweet and they always seem to know what's going on, they're very good about calling me. They're always informed and really good about informing me.

I have a mother-in-law that's in another facility so I think in comparison, it seems to be pretty fair. It's a little expensive but then again there's a comfort level we get for being there. The management staff and activities have been great, they're keeping her busy for the activities she can do. The healthcare staff is good, they keep track of everything and call me if there's an issue. If she bruises or anything they usually have it documented and let us know how it happened and they're always making sure she takes her meds.

I am satisfied with the services my mother is receiving right now and the management are all very nice and very professional. Regardng her dining experience, the food is awesome because the Chef is the best and there is a nice variety of things to do with activities. The housekeepers clean her apartment really good and things are always in good repair thanks to maintenance. Whenever we needed things fixed, they were always there promptly. All in all, my mom loves the place and I am satisfied with our experience.

Based on our research back in 2014 when moving Mom in, I think the value is outstanding. In all honestly, I think it’s very fair, the price. My wife and I researched Fullerton gardens big-time. There are a lot of bilingual Spanish-speaking residents and workers. Mom is multi-lingual and speaks Italian fluently and knows Spanish, and she loved communicating with them. It made me feel warm. When she spoke Italian the Spanish speakers could understand a lot of what she said, and it made me feel she was amongst friends. The first thing that comes to mind when I think about Management is that they're courteous. They always get me to the right person. They're courteous and they care. The care is outstanding. Maggie, in care services, she interacts with my wife and me a lot. She's phenomenal. She is very proactive and contacts us and gives us personal comments. The activities are great. I'm very appreciative of them keeping the residents active. They keep them busy and it is appreciated. If anything happens, even if it's trivial, the staff mentions it to me. I'd definitely recommend it. I say, look at this place first and compare the others to it. They pay attention, call me, and it gives me peace of mind. Mom is very safe and well taken care of at the community.
