Glenwood Place Senior Living

The dining department has been really good. When we go we go to the bistro and we take our food with us to his table. They have gotten to know him and know what he likes to eat and his habits because he has trouble speaking. Everything looks clean. I haven't seen anything lacking. Everything seems well maintained by maintenance. The care staff has been really good to my Dad.

I think that I am getting a very good value for the price and I feel safe. I think the management is fine. It is a big property to manage but I think they do a good job. The activities and maintenance crew are absolutely marvelous. I am very satisfied with the cleaning and I use the transportation a lot for appointments, church and the Symphony. Overall, I think it is a wonderful place and it is the most warm and supportive place.

Management is very good. The food is good and the servers are very accomodating. There are quite a few activities but I don't go to most of them. There are plenty of activities available. They've been very accomodating with the transportation service. I'm quite satisfied with everything here.

My husband and I live at Glenwood Place, and we're lucky with our apartment because we have 2 bedrooms, 2 baths and hardwood throughout, so we feel very comfortable. Management is respectful and knowledgeable, always working to make the community more friendly and family oriented. I participate in a lot, otherwise my husband participates in a couple, but oh heavens do we enjoy what we do. The activity staff is top notch.

I looked at several places and thought this was the best by far. I have a very large apartment. I have been here for over five years. We get to interact a lot with the residents at mealtime when we go over to eat. There are six buildings with over 300 people. The staff is full of young people which is great for us old grey headed people to see. They do a great job. I feel very safe as it is a building that you have to have a code to get into. The food here is pretty good and the service is excellent. We have two dining rooms which serve a standard base and change it on a daily basis. We also have quick order restaurant and that is one of the reasons I came here. The housekeeping is good. I have it done once a month. She comes and cleans the bathroom, shower, the floors, and empties the garbage. She does a good job and I enjoy talking to her. The buildings are all in excellent shape and the landscaping looks nice.

Management is very accommodating and the dining is very good. There are lots of choices of activities, everybody in housekeeping is really good, and maintenance does a very good job.

My daughter works for an office there and she said it's a great place, so we moved my dad in. He's safe; they make sure he always uses his walker. The care staff keeps his weight and blood pressure under control. They do a good job and are nice and kind to him which I appreciate. Up through the whole move-in process the management worked hard to make it work out. They always say hi and call my dad by name when they see him, stop him to talk for a few minutes, he needs that, and it's nice. Housekeeping has been good and the maintenance team keeps the building looking nice. Dad goes on the bus trip every once in a while. He tells us not to come on Wednesdays because that's bus-trip day. He goes to the ice cream social and things like that, and the staff helps him walk 30 minutes a day and stay active. The service from wait staff is really good, the food is nice. I ate there twice for dinner at the bistro and the food has been good. I would eat there. You're not going to find a place better than Glenwood Place.

It was ultimately my dad's decision to chose this community. My dad's girlfriend was there and they have good meals there. Management has been great. We had a few issues; maintenance resolved them quickly and my dad's place is always clean.

In regards to the management, everyone that we have dealt with from the move in each and every one of them were superlative individuals and extremely helpful. Questions were answered and if they didn't know the answer they researched and found out. My mom is excited about being involved in everything. She is going to have to decide how she is going to spend her time because there are so many things to get involved in. My mom has been happy with her interactions with the maintenance staff so far. The building is nice and clean and it feels good there. The cost of the meals is one of things that was the turning point in my mom’s decision to move there. Every meal being $6 for resident was a big plus compared to other meal programs that we looked at. I would rate the value very high. My mom is very happy and we are very happy that she is there. We feel very good about it and we know that she is fine. Everything has gone so well so far. We are not aware of anything that needs improvement at this point. I don't think we could have made a better choice.

I came from a place that didn’t have any form of assistance for health reasons so I came here to get the assistance from the health personnel. When I ask questions I get good answers. I feel the people that they hire are well trained and friendly and helpful. I knew a lot of the people and it made it easier for me to manuever around and participate in things. The room was well prepared when I moved in. Mainatenance did a good job of preparing things. It was in top shape. I feel like if I did call it would be taken care of nicely. I have only had one experience with housekeeping. The laundry service is good.
