Grand Victorian of Sycamore

I think they are doing a good job and I don't have any complaints. I love the nurses there. I live in Chicago and that is about a 60 mile ride so I will call once a week to see how everything is going. They will get on the phone right away. Since the quarantine they have been doing Facetime with the residents and I thought that was a great idea. I just think they are doing a good job, especially at this time. They are trying to keep the residents busy without getting them too close together.

I can't speak highy enough of the staff there. They have maintained that facility virus free. That just goes to show you what the security is and how seriously everybody there takes it. I believe the local staff is really committed and the culture there is great. They liked the activities prior to the situation. They had games, sing-alongs, they had a comedian or two come in. They like the variety and feel that the people doing them care about the resident and put on a quality activity. During Easter the staff delivered packets to their apartments with individual games. Sounds like even now they are really trying.

The management communicates primarily with my husband and through this pandemic they have communcated every day about things that they are doing and trying to make better. The housekeeping has been real good and my mother-in-law has been real happy with the maintenance service.

The cleaning is excellent. We are given a particular day of the week for housekeeping and she comes in and cleans and changes my sheets. I think they do pretty well with activities. I have a dance background so I enjoy the workouts. The food is good.

I think it's a good value. I'm satisfied with the overall price.Everytime I call there they try to be helpful and clear and respond right away. As far as I can tell the service is pretty good. They're always super busy but they always take the time to talk to me and they always express a lot of care for my mother. I really think they care about her. I just appreciate everything they are doing.

The care has been working out well. The housekeeping has been excellent. The activities are great. I'm extremely impressed and happy with everything going on there. They have good coffee, and my dad enjoys the first two meals. The management team knows my dad by his name. It was a very warm welcome. Everything is bright and clean. I'm very happy to have my dad there.

The apartment and acccommodations my father has at the community are excellent. He is very happy with the healthcare staff, and he always has very high compliments of them. One of the big things when you visit a place like this is that a smell hits you, but you never get that smell at this community. It's very inviting. The laundry and housekeeping is done really well. We haven't had any mixups in the laundry, and they're always taking his trash out. When I look at the activity schedules, they always have things to do. My father enjoys the dining portions, they always have what he wants if it's something special, and they pay very good attention to him. From my experience of getting him in and making sure things were clear, the management has been excellent. Overall, I think we're getting a very good deal.

The management staff are very cordial and very kind and very nice. So far, the housekeepers have done a fine job. Every Tuesday, they do my laundry. I know they are coming. I have everything ready for them. They launder it and bring it back to my room and put it away the best that they can. Our maintenance man is very prompt, and he is very particular. He doesn't ignore your requests and comes and checks things out if you have a complaints. He stays on top of everything. The care givers are all nice and friendly and have a good attitude about their job. I apprecaite that. It is a good atmosphere here and I like it here. I see nothing wrong here. People love it here.

I think they are all wonderful, loving and caring people. They love everybody. They are very good with my dad. The care staff was amazing. They were good and kind. They are kind and caring and treat the residents like family. The maintennace team is good. They are great. They were very nice people and very hard working. We've always received wonderful care there from wonderful people.

I find the staff to be devoted, caring and if there any concerns that I had they listened to me and helped me work through them.
