Harbour Assisted Living of Monroeville

My mother seems to be getting good attention and that is what I care about. The food as far as she is concerned is adequate and it seems fine to me as well. The dining staff is very congenial. One of the reason we chose this community was because of the cleanliness. Of all the places we saw, we thought this place was the cleanest. The care that she gets is good. The girls there seem very caring. I am in no way dissatisfied with that.

I think management does well, I've talked to the manager Jen many times and she calls me back and talks to me frankly about the things going on there. The place is well kept, there are no odors, it's fairly clean, and the whole place is laid out and well done. My aunt likes several of the workers there and trusts in them, there is good value in the community.

My wife has been there over three years and I have been for the most part pleased. The food is good and the servers have always been pleasant to her and to me. I have seen their activities. They seem to be very complete and very good for the residents there. I have been very impressed with some of the activities they have. When I moved her in the maintenance guys were helpful. I think housekeeping has been good also. They keep my wife’s room very clean and I see the cleaning women going around and they seem to be working very hard. I am impressed with them. They do the laundry regularly; her bed and laundry are always taken care of. I know when I am visiting with Diane I'll see the aides come in to empty the trash and take care of anything that needs to be taken care of. I think the nurses, aides, and physical therapists have been doing a good job, they watch over my wife and take care of her. I think the care is good and it's a good location.

My husband needed different care and we moved him out, but he loved the people at Harbour, he was happy there. The food was always good in the dining room, and it's a beautiful place. I never had any problems. When I asked about something, the managers were very easy to work with. Transportation from the community went fine; they had to take him to the hospital about every other week. The housekeepers were very good, and we were satisfied with my husband's apartment. He was safe there, and he was comfortable. I love the place. It was the best place he was ever in, and he's been in probably five or six different places.

I haven’t had any problems with management; they've answered any question I've had. Wendy was really good the day I came to talk about placing my dad there. Jenna as well, they couldn’t have been nicer or more accommodating. I have no problem with dad's housekeeping and laundry services; he has clean clothes all the time. The building and grounds look great, everything is nice, everything is working. I don’t see any maintenance issues. It’s an outstanding visual on the corner there. I was so glad they had room for him when I needed it; I think the value is great. He feels safe, he lets me know that. He's happy he can adjust his own thermostat, he likes it hot. I know Mary does a great job with the social activities. She comes in and talks to him and he likes her. There's no way I can think of to improve anything that I can think of. It’s convenient for me, he's comfortable there, and I love the way it looks. I am really grateful for Harbour.

I think it was a good experience. The dining staff were very helpful with her when she got to the point where she couldn't cut up her food. They were always very attentive to her.The room was always very clean and she always had clothes to wear. The condition of the building was very good. They took real good care of her and I really appreciated that. Everybody seemed to be doing very well. I spent most of the time in the memory care unit. When you first go in you see the other residents. Those residents always seemed to be happy and they had activities going on. Overall, it was all around it was a good community for seniors.

I'm perfectly happy with the management team that's in place right now. Any time I have an issue or question I can email the Director or Nurse and they will get back to me. They always keep the outside looking nice and he is getting physical therapy, which I am happy about.

It has been almost a year since my mother moved in. My mother's room always seems clean and maintenance problems get dealt with. I think the caregivers are very respectful and they manage to keep their energy and attentiveness up.

It has been a little over a year since my cousin moved in. She has a big nice apartment all to herself that she really likes. She enjoys the activities in house and the outings they take as well. She says the food is delicious from the dining room. The housekeeping services keep her room tidy. The maintenance have been helpful with any request we have had. The care staff does a good job of keeping check on her. I don't have any complaints.

My has father recently moved into Harbour Assist Living of Monroeville and it's good, the apartment space is great. Wendy is the one in management that I talked to and she is really efficient. She gave me all the information I needed and maintenance has been in a couple of times, that guy is really good. In terms of daily help, the laundry itself is done well and the housekeeping on the whole is pretty good. The Nurses are really wonderful, anytime we ask them a question they will give us answer and they will give him different food if he gets something he doesn't like. Overall, we have been satisfied with the services provided so far.
