Island Shores Retirement Community

I think the price is fine and management has been good. My mother loves bingo and she plays cards. She enjoys the activities that they have. I think the cleaning and laundry is very good. Her place is clean and they do a good job with her laundry. When she had a problem, maintenance was good about it and took care of it right away. The building has been very good. They did some painting and updating so it looks nice in there. The care has been pretty good. I just got her a new phone and a few of the girls have been coming in and helping her with it.

I haven't had any reason but to have good interaction with the management, their response time is very good. My loved one is very happy with the housekeeping. Whenever she asks for something specific, it's always done, done well and happily. Whenever my loved one needs help with anything maintenance is right there to fix it and they do it well. There is a wide variety of activities to choose from. The few times that I have eaten there the food has been excellent, esthetically pleasing, the food tastes good and the servers are very hospitable.

My wife and I lived at this community for three months and recently had to leave, but when we become more disabled we may move back here. They were really good launderists. We were staisfied with the dining services and activites offered.

I think it's a fair exchange dollar for service. I've usually been able to contact someone there without any problems. I’m aware they offer a variety of social opportunities and I think that's a good thing. I thought the housekeeping was excellent, I've seen people in cleaning, it appears that's top notch. It's pleasant surroundings, it's clean and tidy, the staff is pleasant and accommodating and it smells nice.

The value is fine, maintenance is fine, housekeeping and laundry are fine, the dining is fine and management is good. I have no complaints about anything. I don't partake in all of the activities but the ones I do participate in I do I enjoy. There are enough activities.

The management here is very receptive to the needs of the community. I find the food here is consistenly good and the dining service is excellent. There is a good varity of activities to chose from. The housekeeping and maintenance departments do extremely good work. They are responsive and very timely with their actions.

My mom and dad have lived in Island Shores for five years now, and we’re satisfied with their apartment, they’re comfortable in it. The managers do a good job, and I think they have a lot of activities. The food is very good and we have no complaints there. The community is well tended for the most part.

My brothers and I looked at different places and we just liked the layout and that it was a first floor apartment, it's phenomenal, she's in a two bedroom apartment. Everything is neat and orderly and everyone seems to know what they're doing. Management is just so helpful with my mom, Gary has just been phenomenal helping us out with all the odds and ends, it's just working out good for us. She likes the food and I ate there twice and it was phenomenal. She does go to some exercise things and she likes that, she really likes what she goes to. The healthcare staff comes almost immediately when she puts her light on and sometimes there are two of them there. She gets along with everybody so it's really just phenomenal service, and the therapy is just going awesome. My mom seems to be happy, she gets along with everybody, everybody is friendly, and everything is going good.

My dad wanted to stay independent in an apartment type setting but needed assistance, I'm extremely pleased that he's there; he really wanted his independence but needed help so this was the best answer for him. Management has been attentive to mine and my dad's questions and he's been very pleased with the healthcare services. My dad just loves the food; I would say the food is his favorite thing there. He really likes they have a men's group; he's done that several times and is looking forward to the Christmas party. His apartment seems very clean and he's pleased with the laundry service, all in all, it's been good.

I suspect it's a good price for all that they get, they get housekeeping, all of the meals, maintenance and all of the in home care for him, I believe that it's a fair price. Management have been very helpful and it's very good food, I've eaten there with them several times. My parents are getting very good care, they get there quickly and care for them well. Everyone is very friendly.
