Island Shores Retirement Community

I have been living at Island Shores for over 4 1/2 years and I think management is absolutely fantastic! They listen and if there is something that can be done, it's done. The dining room is great as well. You have menu choices which is so nice and the quality is very good. They have a lot of activity choices as well. I would highly recommend this community to others. The value is fait and you really don't have to do anything.

My daughter moved me into the Island Shores Community just over 1 year ago. The management makes sure that everything seems to go well here. I have all kinds of food allergies and the dining staff is really so good about trying to protect me. The activities are one of the things that is remarkable at this place. They have different kinds of activities to choose from. I don't use the bus very often but the few times I have they've been very good. I would highly recommend this community to others.

It is fabulous. Overall, as a family, we're very happy that mom is there and mom is very happy to be there. Kathy is fabulous. She's the head RN and tries to stay on top of everything. She is absolutely fabulous. She and Renee work very well together. Her caregivers are very well versed. Kevin, the Head of Maintenance, is fantastic. If anything needs to be fixed, it's done in a very reasonable time frame. Laundry and housekeeping are awesome. She's had the same cleaning lady the entire time she's been there. Jamie is fantastic and will go out of her way to assist mom in any way that she can above and beyond her duties. They try their best to do everything they can for my mother and her family. Chef Jeff does a fabulous job. Mom likes the food for the most part and there are always a lot of different options. She's even gone on several boat trips this summer through the facility which she really enjoyed because that was big part of her life in her youth. They seem to aim to please a wide variety. They're doing a fabulous job there overall.

When I have eaten with my mom there, we enjoyed the service and food. The portions are good, the taste is good and the selection is wonderful. She participates in some activities, but not a lot. There is a nice variety for them to choose from throughout the week. I think that the housekeepers do a pretty good job with the time they spend cleaning her room. I think the grounds and the building looks very nice. I lover apartment both old and new. I think everything is just fine here.

I think the price has been very reasonable. She's on Family Care and they've been good to her. My mom overall, loves it there. I have to say I can sleep well at night knowing that for the most part she is being well taken care of and if anything happens they do call. For the most part the care staff are very friendly and courteous. Overall, Island Shores has been good to my mom.

The way Management welcomed my mother-in-law and got her interacting was great, they've done an outstanding job. They were welcoming, open, understanding, engaging, and not pushy. She says the food is so good she has been complimenting the chef when there is a dish she thinks is particularly good. She loves that you can eat in the dining room or bring it back to your apartment to eat, she's done that a couple of times. She says the cleaning is wonderful, the housekeeper wiped down all the counters, was very thorough, and was a nice person. Everything is clean and neat. The building is very well cared for. It's the perfect deal, it has both Independent and Assisted, which will be a great solution for us in the next two years.

I lived at the community for a total of six years before moving out. The management was fine. The people were great. The housekeeping was great. You couldn't ask for them to do better. The caregivers were all good. I used them when I first got in there and they were very good. If someone needed it, I would recommend it.

Maintenance has been very good; they have come in more than once! The management was very, very responsive. It was excellent. They are very nice and accommodating. Lisa and all of them are wonderful. Overall, it's a very good price for what is received.

Management has been just fine. The community always seems to have something going on regarding activities and the healthcare is very good. We have been satisfied with the services and the community has been just fine.

We walked in for the first time and we smelled Apple Cinnamon fragrance. It feels like home. Between the entrance and everything else, it is all just shiny and bright. The people were at the desk were very friendly, you just walk in there and can't help but to like it. You hear the 'clinks' and 'clanks' of the dining room in the distance. It is all just so welcoming. You feel like you are walking into home. The overall attitude is excellent. The caretakers are knowledgeable, very friendly; they know everyone by their first name and use it to address them. We are just thrilled. They are so organized in the administration of meds, it really empowers the residents.
