Lake Barrington Woods

My mother seems to be happy. I think it is the best place we could have put her. I think the activities are great. I think what they have to offer is quite extensive, they have something for everybody. My mom's apartment always looks clean. The transportation has worked out quite well.

My father’s been there seven years and they're very good. They care about him and do the right things. He seems to be well-fed and happy. They have taken very good care of him.

This seemed the most family-friendly and warm. We've been here almost three weeks and the staff is attentive. Whatever you need, they're right there. They remodeled the whole place and it looks great, they really keep it up. It's always clean and it never smells, not at all. Our apartment is great, one of a kind. Everyone is real nice. Safety and security is fine, no problems. They bend over backwards to make it nice, life is good.

We're happy. Mom gets Physical therapy there and she is very pleased with that. The care givers are very good. They just did a major renovation so I have to say the building is in great shape. My mother always says I feel so safe here, and that's worth it.

I am happy with my living space. I feel very safe and very comfortable. The services here are real good. The food is good. They have a real big variety on the menu. There is just about anything you want. The people in the dining are excellent. The service is real good. The maintenance guys are able to repair anything immediately. The care staff do their best. I am really very satisfied.

Management is very good. The menu variety is good and they have an amazing amount of activities. Everything is very clean there all of the time, including my mom's room. My mother is happy there and she's probably living a lot longer because she's there which is awesome. They really do take good care of her.

My dad and I chose Lake Barrington woods for him because it has a pool. I think he is very happy with being there. I think the variety of activities is phenomenal. It's wonderful, they embrace all types of interests and all types of people. The common areas are very clean. Everything is being newly redone, it's nice and stylish. We’re satisfied with the quality of the food as well as the variety on the menus. I think the management has been very responsive. I think it's a wonderful place with a lot to offer.

My brother-in-law has been there eight years and thinks of it as home. If I call the front desk and need to ask the nurse a question they page her right away. I get my questions answered right away. I even get a copy of his medications if I need. He enjoys music so when singers or musicians that come in he'll always go down for that. It's a very friendly, homey place. They just had a big new renovation, it looks really nice. All new carpeting, it all looks really nice. The nurses are right there when my brother-in-law needs them. When he needs medications they order them. When he needed some right away the nurse walked down the street to get it. Everyone is so kind. They know what is going on and always call if something happens. I live in a community where many people here have had family members there, so it feels like a community place. I know a lot of the residents and in the dining room they often say hi to me when I visit. It's got a great reputation within our community. I am very pleased. He is happy there. So far, so good.

We looked at a lot of places five years ago and it seemed like the best community for my dad to move into. The others were cold, not as homey. Here, there are lots of places for people to hang out, for residents together and talk. That's been really good for my dad, he's made friends. I think the activities are good. I know my dad does most of the activities and that's helpful for him. Management is good and housekeeping and laundry are fine. I think maintenance is pretty good from my perspective. I know they've been doing a lot of changes lately. My dad doesn’t like change normally, but he does like the changes they're making. There was an issue with water, some water got into his and others' apartments and they did a good job dealing with kind of a bad situation. I think the care givers are good. They keep me in tune as to what's going on. I can ask them questions, even call or email, and get answers. That's helpful because I don’t have much time typically. Overall value is good to very good; I think it's a good place.

We couldn't have any better managers here than we do. Those boys in maintenance are good. They are here Johnny-on-the-spot and they do a wonderful job. We have a lot of activities going on. I am 92 years old and I am interested in bingo. In terms of houseekeeping, the laundry for my sheets is wonderful.
