Lake Barrington Woods

In regards to the management, everything seems to run pretty smoothly. The food is great and the service is wonderful. My mother-in-law's care seems pretty good. Overall, they are very attentive and they are very helpful getting her dressed. Generally, she is well taken care of.

Overall, I think Lake Barrington Woods is a great place and my mother's experience is going real well. You can't find a better place in the area and the staff is phenomenal because they're patient and don't rush, so it's a good place to live. Management has been really good and they're very accommodating, on top of being accessible and knowledgeable. My mother really likes the food at the community and she enjoys the brunch, so they really do try. The kitchen also brings out shrimp and large salmon for the residents, which is costly, so I think that's great. Regarding activities, she participates in Bingo and will go to a few things, but she doesn't go to everything. However, she likes what she goes to and the Activity Director is outstanding. She gives the activities 150% effort and they really do a lot, so overall the activities are very good. In terms of cleanliness, the staff does her cleaning, she really likes the lady who cleans her apartment and I like the maintenance people. I think they do a great job with maintaining the building and there was an elevator issue, but they were right on top of it, so it's been satisfactory. In terms of value, you get what you pay for in that she's safe and the staff has been really good to her, so you can't get much more than that. Regarding her room, I think she got the best room at the community and I love it so much that I'd move in there, it's that awesome. With the big bay windows it's really pretty, so it's just a really nice place for her and she feels comfortable there. In regards to recommending the community, I have already told a few people that will be checking it out in the spring and I have also told my husband that when it's our time, we'll be there in a heartbeat, so I am really satisfied with Lake Barrington Woods.

This is an absolutely wonderful community and the resident's care was the priority to management and the caregivers. To me that is golden. The price was very fair. The place my dad was at before was charging more than what they charged here and the service is so much better here. Everyone does the job they are supposed to and management is responsive. When they say they will do something, they do it. They are approachable and I think they are wonderful. I ate here over Thanksgiving and the food was wonderful. The wait staff is wonderful and they know everyone by their first names. They do their best to get everyone what they need. I like how they have the things that are offered every day in case someone doesn't like what is being served. We needed to have someone check out the apartment before we left after my dad passed away. The gentleman came up even though it was a Saturday and he was very pleasant. The care givers were absolutely wonderful. The nurses were very accommodating and the CNA's were there when you needed them. The resident's care was a priority to them. We had a private caregiver help him with his medicine and to make sure he was properly dressed. She was with him at his previous community too and would tell me about all the issues he faced at the previous community. She didn't have complaints about this community.

Maintenance does very well here. They have a lot of activities to choose from, you can do what you want to do and the activities director does a wonderful job with the activities. Regarding housekeeping, compared to other places they do a great job.

Management has followed through on everything that we were sold on when we first chose Lake Barrington Woods. The care staff are attentive to my mom's needs, maintenance is very receptive and my mom enjoys all of the food.

Management has been helpful. The maintenance does a good job. I know they are going through renovations and it is a pain but the place is really kept in good condition. They are very prompt to any requests for service in mom's room. The nurses are fantastic, very caring, and very responsive. They are wonderful.

I chose this community for my dad because I went around to quite a few places and it was the nice nature of this place that I liked and if he goes back to being independent we would only be charged for what his needs are, which is nice. My dad says the food is great. They're in the middle of renovations, it's great that they're going through such great lengths to modernize everything and bring it up to standards. It's a great operation and I'm glad I picked it and my dad is glad that I picked it.

One of the reasons we chose the community was the value for the space. It was a nice facility and I felt the apartment was large and more reasonable that some I had looked at for my loved one. The food appears to look fine to me and she is interested in the book club with activities. I believe the housekeeping is adequate.

My mom's safety was absolutely the most important thing that we thought about and my mom absolutely feels safe. The outside looks really pretty and the patio is beautiful, my mom loves the patio. Mom says the food is pretty good and the maintenance men are pretty good as well. Overall mom is pretty satisfied there. We're very happy that mom is safe there.

Overall, I think the management does a really good job. The food is good. I think they have a lot to offer in terms of activities and they have a good variety for my grandmother to choose from. Everything seems to be in good order. The maintenance staff is usually really responsive to her. They are really good.
