Lakeshore Manor

We're pretty pleased with the management. They get my mom involved, we haven't had any problems with them and they do things in a timely manner. My mom is happy with the food and her numbers are good with her diabetes. They're following the diabetic diet that we've requested that my mom needs to be on. The healthcare staff is really good, they joke with my mom, they treat her like a human being and they care about her. In terms of housekeeping, everything is clean and if there is an incident everything is cleaned up right away. I think we're getting what we pay for and we don't have to worry about my mom at all. My mom likes it, she enjoys being there, and she’s very comfortable and happy.

What made us choose Lakeshore Manor for mom could be summed up as the mood. When we walked in the mood was so much better than other places, residents and staff seem happier and more upbeat. The management has been outstanding for the most part. Mom is satisfied with the food and there’s great activities offered. The building looks well maintained and her apartment is very nice. All in all, the value is good; I think the price is fair.

The management is always very pleasant when I am there. The food looks delicious. The chef seems to care about what the residents are eating and takes an active interest. The staff seems to be very involved and excited. I like that they bring in outside music and entertainment. I have noticed that my mom’s clothes are always clean. It looks like they are doing upgrading, painting and redecorating. Everything looks fresh. The care givers seem very pleasant with my mom and take an active interest in her.

I think we are getting what we pay for. I know it is more expensve than where she was. I think the value is excellent. She is safe and comfortable, that's part of the reason why we moved her there. We have been very happy. I haven't had any complaints as far as management. It's gone very smoothly for my mother. On the last checkup she went to she has actually gained weight, so I think that's a good thing. Compared to where my mom was before the activities are wonderful and excellent. She is never in her room. She is always out socializing and participating in everything. As far as I know her laundry is being done regularly. The building itself looks beautiful; very impressive. As far as care, I absolutely have no complaints so far. Everything has been great. My sister who sees her more often has had no complaints. I have not noticed anything lacking in response. Overall, We've been super happy with it. We are very glad we made the move there.

Vicky in the healthcare department works her butt off, give her kudos. I'm glad that they have a lot of activities. 've been there when she's done a few of them and I've liked them. All in all, I think the place is beautiful and the people are hard working.

My mom is well cared for at this community. The care staff are able to provide care for my mom and if my mom needs assistance or something, they're able to assist her with it. The activities seem to be pretty good. Mom seems to be fed and eats what she is given. Everything seems to work and if it doesn't work it gets fixed pretty quickly.

In regards to the management, anytime I have a concern and send an email they are very responsive to that. Whenever we visit they call us by name and they connect with us. I think overall they have really good food for the residents. She does participate and that is really why she is at that location. Because of her dementia she needs distractions. They have a ton of activities. It seems like when things need to get done they get done. The maintenance man is always very friendly. The care staff has been very responsive. The director of nursing has been very responsive. Anytime I notice changes with my mom she will respond to my emails. One time she even had a staff meeting about my concerns. For us it is great right now.

I think the management does a pretty good job. We are happy with her being there and she enjoys being there. I am very happy with the housekeeping. She goes to the different events that they schedule outside of the facility using the transportation. I think Lakeshore Manor does an excellent job and she feels very safe.

We liked that it was Memory Care specific, that's probably the main reason we moved mom in there. I like that it's small, and location. It's near me and my sister. Lakeshore is beautiful and the people there are wonderful. It’s night and day compared to her previous place. We needed to move in quickly, and the management team worked with us really well, made it as easy as they could, as quick as they could. We couldn’t have asked for any more. We decided to stay with the same company as her last place because when we walked into Lakeshore it looked so nice. The whole community is clean, there's always somebody working everywhere in Lakeshore is clean. On move-in day, maintenance set her TV up. As soon as we mentioned it, someone was there within half an hour. Apartment cleaning by housekeeping is excellent, and the community has a ton of activities for mom to do, which is wonderful. It's a huge relief to the family; there is a lot of peace of mind to have my mom where she is safe and comfortable.

My mother seems to like it at Lakeshore Manor and I was nervous because I thought she'd put up a stink and stay in her room, but she is enjoying it and that is all I can really hope for. Every staff member that I have met have all been terrific and they treat her with such respect which is very important. They're always complimenting her, making sure she is participating and active, so I really like that it's a smaller community. Management has been absolutely phenomenal. They're very caring, very aware of my mother's needs and they go out of their way to see my mother's interests. My mother was an avid reader, so they organized the library with books for her and had a sit down meeting seeing what books she likes. I have eaten the food at the community and the menu selections are really geared towards what older people like. My mom absolutely loves the food, especially the breakfasts because it's a full hearty breakfast with oatmeal or pancakes with sausages and eggs. With activities, they really try to gear towards the residents' interests and the interest of the area. In Oshkosh we have a lot of Native American background, so in October they focused on the history of Wisconsin talking about Native Americans in Wisconsin, doing activities like looking for arrowheads or relics. She isn’t a crafty person, but they have some nice crafts that she has actually been doing so I think they're fun, simplistic, keep her occupied and make her think. 9 out of 10 times she participates in the activities offered, so I love the fact that she is kept busy and kept stimulated because it's important. She wants her laundry done more frequently, which is never a problem either. They do it as often as she wants, all she has to do is say something to someone and they take care of it the same day, so she is happy with that. With housekeeping, the lady is very friendly, going out of her way for anything my mother needs and introducing herself the very first day. She wanted to know anything that my mother wanted done a specific way, so she has been really attentive. The maintenance man is very patient and the care staff knows what to watch for, they know what questions to ask and they're on top of her needs, so they do a great job. Overall, it's been a positive experience and I would absolutely recommend it.
