The Landing of Stow

We did tour four other communities, and the major reason we chose The Landing for mom is that it's not too big, and everyone went the extra mile. It was clean, no dogs hanging around the lobby, and it's close to where my husband and I live. I think the value is really good. The managers are getting my mom social, they do an excellent job with that. This includes nursing management. The care is incredible. They're working miracles with her, doing a really good, outstanding job. My husband and I ate there a couple of times. Yesterday I went to visit and they had a singer come in singing all the old songs I remember my parents playing. It was like an hour show, it was a concert, that was awesome. They do games, bingo, everything is so good for the people that live there. Maintenance set up the TV and Wi-Fi. She couldn’t bend over to get things at the bottom of the fridge, so they lifted it up and put a nice storage area underneath. The inside is always clean, really clean, and when it warms up they have rocking chairs on the porch. I tell everyone how happy we are.

Dad has been there for seven months, and we’re satisfied with the services he’s getting. The leadership team is very hands-on and resolve problems and answer questions quickly. The food is pretty good and there’s always activities going on. The transportation service provides a very friendly driver and the vehicle appears to be nice. Housekeeping is pretty good and maintenance is very nice. The value is good.

Management is good, I have no complaints at all. The healthcare staff are all very good as well. The food is good as far as I know. The activities director will talk to me about what may have happened during the day with the activities. My wife enjoys the dancing. My wife's room is generally in good shape. I'm pleased and feel that my wife is getting good care.

We chose The landing for my mother because the atmosphere at the community is outstanding and the people are outstanding as well. Everyone has been accommodating and management took the time with me before my mother got there, so they understand the situation. While it was a huge change, they really helped her embrace it and made it comfortable for her to go there, so that was appreciated. Since then, everyone in management is very friendly and every time you walk in, they're nice and you can ask them of any issue you have. I have called them before and spoke to the Nursing Director, and with any questions I have, they're helpful, so it's just outstanding service. Regarding the dining experience, there is variety of food and they'll make the food a certain way for her, since she had a stroke, so the dining staff caters to everyone really well there. We were invited to a quarterly family dinner and it was very good food, with the people there being very friendly, so the dining experience is outstanding. Aside from being very nice and friendly, the healthcare staff is very aware of the resident's needs at the community and the residents trust them because you can see mutual respect between them, which I think is paramount in the success of the community and it's proving every day. In terms of cleanliness, the housekeeping always takes care of her laundry and the room is always clean when I am there, so there have been no issues with it. The room is quite open and the bathroom is quite large, so it's perfect for her as well. With the activities, my mother went from living alone, to having friends that she can hang out with. Knowing that she can garden, play Bingo or watch movies upstairs, she has a wide variety of things to do, so I am satisfied with the consistency of things offered to them. Regarding maintenance, I think the grounds and building with everything, it's literally brand new and well cared for. Maintenance has been around a few times and the man is great. He is very personable and is always there to take care of issues because when I needed him, he was there within minutes, so he does an outstanding job. Overall, it's been a great experience for thus far.

The room that my parents have is very nice and beautiful. One thing I have noticed about the staff is everybody pitches in for everybody. Someone walks away from the phone someone else answer it, someone needs help in the dining room and someone passing by helps out. They are very friendly. My Dad loves the food. My stepmom hasn't been able to cook for him in about 10 years and so he loves the home cooked meals. My dad likes going down for the exercise and the bible study. They have a lot of activities to choose from. The cleanliness is excellent here.

In terms of the care staff, they do a great job with her. I think management is very good. The housekeeping department seems to be doing very nicely with my wife's cleaning and laundry. The maintenance man does a terrific job. They will put salt down when needed so that visitiors such as myself can get in very easily.

I like the way the management handle themselves. They all try really, really good. They are pretty responsive. I think the activities are very good. The laundry is done and his room is always clean. They have been redoing the building and it looks really good. They updated it really nice. I think the care givers are very good as well.

For the peace of mind we are getting the value here is good. Dad is doing better than when we had him at his home. Everything management said they would take care of they have. The building is very clean interior wise and I can't complain about the outside. We are pleased with the services Dad is getting from dining, activities and care as well. I can't complain.

My sons and I chose The Landing of Stow for my husband because we thought it was clean and we just liked it. Management is very nice and they talk to you, helping you out. If I have a question, they're there to answer. The dining is fine and he has been eating well. They have activities consistently offered and the housekeeping staff has been doing his laundry just fine, including apartment cleaning. We haven't moved any pictures yet, but the maintenance department did help in setting up this TV and they came the same day. Plus, the community itself is very clean, nice and there are no odors. With regards to his care, it's been good and all of the aides are wonderful, so they have been great. Overall, I think the price is very fair and the experience so far has been satisfactory.

I think it's pretty fair for all the services that they get and the facility itself. Overall it's gorgeous since the new owners and management took over. If my mom has a problem, electrical or heat, the maintenance guy is right there. They remodeled the lobby and everything, it's just beautiful, and the activities are fantastic.
