Locust Grove Personal Care & Memory Care

At a couple other places I looked I didn't like the fact there wasn't much space, the outdoor patio and all that, and we specifically liked the apartment style. It didn't look like one big hospital room, it actually had separate areas like an apartment so we thought that would be much better for him. We liked the apartment feel and even when our family comes to visit they say it's so much nicer than they expected because they didn't expect it to have an apartment look. When we dealt with Joan, she was great, and Christina was great, they made it pretty simple. We commented on the maintenance when we first came there, we noticed there was always somebody out in the area with the landscaping maintaining it. We thought they really took pride in their appearance even from the outside. Everything to me looks clean. We always like there's not a smell in there and everything seems clean. We think everything is kept very nice there. The caretakers communicate with him a lot and he likes that, he seems to have a connection with some of the staff.

The management team they have there are the very best. My mother has been there for almost five years and I think this is the best team they have had. The maintenance is excellent. When you go up there the place is manicured. When I go up there my mom's room is clean and the dining room is spotless every time I go in there. The care services are good. The nurses are really good and they always call me whenevr something may be wrong. For five years I've been going there and I've become friends with the people that work there, I get to know everybody. I feel like I am paying for what I am getting. They are really good and it's just one of the nicest places.

" Care staff has been very nice, on each shift they all come in and introduce themselves to the resident." " I left with a clear consious that she was going to be well taken care of."

It's a wonderful place. She's doing really well. They're great, any time I need to call in the doctor or the visiting nurse, they get that arranged for me immediately. They keep her busy from 8am until it's time to go to sleep and she needs that. It's not just bingo, they do exercises, bingo, have entertainment come in, so they try to change it up as much as they possibly can. They are fabulous. They're always very responsive to any needs. They help me with anything I ask.

The value is very good. Management has been pretty attentive to our needs. They've been keeping him engaged with activities so I am very pleased with that. My father's room always looks good and there has been no need for any maintenance work done. The caregivers have been very accessible and responsive. I don't have any complaints at this time.

We have had nothing but praise for everyone we have come into contact with. They are very friendly and wonderful people. It is bright in the dining room. The light flows in so you can see everybody. The girls who bring you your food are very pleasant. I enjoyed my food when I ate with her. Everything seems to be in order. It is so fresh when you walk in there. My aunt feels very safe and comfortable there and is glad she made the move. She has been doing exercises which are very good. She has also gone to Bingo. Everything seems to be in order. I would absolutely recommend this community.

Most everything was above average for his care and everything involved. I think the care staff is very attentive to the people that live there. They keep the grounds in great shape. My brother was pretty happy with the activities, they had movie times and Bingo days and spread things out. When he needed transportation he would let them know if he had an appointment a couple days in advance and when the time came for his appointments, they were right there and took him there and back. Overall he was happy with it.

The housekeeping, pharmacy and everyone has just been on their toes and the care has been tremendous. I'd say the activities are very good, there's always something going on in the morning and in the afternoon. Housekeeping is good. It's kept up nicely in my mom's room. Transportation is always there and everything is always running smooth. It's been a wonderful experience for my mom.

They always have something going on and have games; they always try to do something. It's a very nice looking place; they do a nice job on it. If we had complaints, the management staff kind of worked with us pretty well so I don't see any issues there, nothing serious. They're doing the best they can and I think the food is fine. The preparation and way they present it is fine so I think they're doing OK. All in all, everything is up to dat and it works.

I can't compare it to other places but my brother’s taken care of and safe. If something were to happen, they would respond to him, so it's fine. I think all the staff there we've encountered has been very nice. When the caretakers come in to take care of him, they do well. It seems like they try to do a lot of stuff, my brother just doesn't participate. They do try to seem to fill the day. Overall, the building is excellent.
