Maurice House

The MedTechs do a great job. It's expensive but my mom is very happy there and she has gotten very good care there. I recommend this community every chance I get. It's the best place in the area.

I am a retired physician and I know what is out there. I know good care and a good spirit when I see it. This place is just terrific. They make it a pleasure to go visit my brother and they take care of him. It is a blessing because every place isn't like this. I feel like he is safe. I have eaten there a number of times with my brother and the food is just fine. I just love the activities they offer and my brother loves going out on the bus. He is doing all kinds of things that he didn't do at home. His room is clean and his clothes are clean. It is just wonderful. We use the bus to go to doctor and dentist appointments. It is just wonderful. It is a great place and I would like to move in myself.

The place was in pretty good shape when he moved in and it's continued to be. The dining is very good, for an institution they do very well there, my dad likes the food. The healthcare staff does a very good job, they're attentive to his needs, he has a button he wears and they're very responsive.

It's a good value. It's a clean, nice place. It's not perfect, but no place is. It's much better than the average place.

Mom’s been there six years and the current Director I think is very competent in her job and very accessible. So far everything seems to be doing well under her watch. From what I have observed of the meals everything seems good and nutritionally balanced, and there's a good selection. Currently the activities are the best they’ve ever been. I call the Activities Director the Cruise Director. She does a really good job, there are lots of activities, and she keeps morale out and brings in entertainers. It’s great. I think housekeeping is good, no complaints, and they have been able to have care giver staff that again seems to be willing to do what they can and that's all you can ask for. They have an excellent maintenance man who is just super, he really cares. He tries to keep ahead of all of it, knows what needs to be done, and gets it done. He's a self-starter, he's just great. I pray we don’t lose him. I am very happy right now with where mom is. It is a pleasure for me to visit there and it's a blessing to know my mother is safe and taken care of.

This community is the nicest place around here and it is worth it if you are around here. The service in the dining room seems to be very good and the community seems to have different things for the residents to do. There are a lot of things that the residents seem to enjoy and this community offers field trips. Housekeeping does very good. The lady that does the cleaning is wonderful. She is very caring towards the residents and will do anything to help them out. The laundry seems to be fine. They seem to do a good job there also. Maintenance seems to be very good and if something is brought to his attention, he takes care of it quickly. The maintenance man seems to take pride in his work which is wonderful. The building is very good. It makes a very nice impression going in and looking at it. They do a good job taking care of it. The caregivers seem to be very good. She gets her medicine managed by them and they are very good about that. They seem to be right there if someone has a medical problem. They are very friendly and nice people. They have an excellent staff there and do a good job hiring people. They are nice and accommodating.

I heard it was good, it was close, there were two places in consideration and at Maurice House, I liked speaking with the people that were there and it was actually cheaper. My mother has been satisfied with the food, it looks nice, and the housekeeping is excellent. It seems like everything has been handled professionally and accurately, if there's any problem, they call me.

The staff is attentive and do check in on my mom, it's safe, the doors are locked, they do regular fire drills, they keep people informed. She likes the chef, he's very personable and does a good job, my mom is always very happy with the staff in the dining room. They do a nice job of bringing in the entertainment, singing and music and when the transportation service is offered, it's great. My mom likes the new nurse and her room there a whole lot.

It was very convenient to our house, a very short distance, so we moved my mom in. She likes her apartment, mom feels safe there. Everything is going perfectly and she loves it there. She's only been there two weeks, but says she really likes it there. The managers are very helpful. Mom loves everything she gets in the dining room. She's requested they cut her portions because she can’t eat it all. As far as I know the wait staff is waiting on her hand and foot. There is always some activity there to do every day if she wanted to. The maintenance man hung the TV, did anything she needed to be done. We bought a grab bar and he put it together and installed it in the shower. The care people come to her room, give her her meds, bathe her, and everything is satisfactory with care. She's really happy there, she loves it and everything.

The management is excellent. They are caring and they tend to your needs and they are available. My mother is very pleased with the meals. They are very accommodating to her dietary needs. If she doesn't care for a certain thing they will make her something else. The housekeeping is excellent. Her apartment is clean and you can tell when they have been in. They clean twice a week and they get it done in a timely manner. The housekeeping staff and even the maintenance take pride in their work. The laundry is also excellent. She has medications dispensed and that is also excellent.
