Maurice House

It costs to live here but it is necessary for my parents. They need a place where they are protected and safe and I feel like they are here. Things at this community are being run fine. The cooks do the best to their ability with what they have to work with. I think the quality and variety is okay. It is fine variety with nutritious value. They have plenty of fruits, salad, vegetables, proteins and desserts. Everything looks fine to me. There is always something going on at this community. Edward, the maintenance man, does an outstanding job on keeping up with things. He is excellent. You mention something to him and he is right on it. He is a very conscientious person. The building looks outstanding. It has good curb appeal. It is painted nicely and it nice and bright. They have redone the floors and painted and it looks very nice. I have commented on how there are no odors there. The care is fine. I was on vacation last month and I got a call from the staff to let me know that my mom had fallen and needed to be sent out. We have had multiple falls through the year and every time they have handled things appropriately and contacted me. My dad doesn't understand why the pills have to be put in a pill pocket because it is more expensive. I explained to him that it is to make sure he is actually getting his medication and not a sugar pill. There is adequate staff at this community. Everybody is very accommodating and checks on my parents to make sure they are okay. They are paying attention and call me if they think my mom has fallen.

We chose Maurice House back in February of 2018 and we have been satisfied with the services provided; we feel safe and comfortable at the community. Management is respectful and responsive, the food is good and adequate, I don't have to do the laundry anymore and the maintenance crew does a good job within their budget constraints. Regarding care, we have aides, and a Nurse and we're doing pretty good there too so it's been a good experience.

My mother's happy. She says she likes the food. If she is not super-hungry they will make her a fruit plate or salad plate, they will accommodate your feeling s at the time, you're not restricted to what is on the menu. It's been very good. The caregivers seem excellent. They communicate well with the family and are responsive to any of my mom's concerns or needs. I like the managers very much. They also communicate well, they have nice programs for the families periodically, and whenever we speak with them on the phone or in person they are always accommodating. They have activities frequently, they have things once a month for families and those are very well executed. Everything is well-maintained. If there is a problem, maintenance addresses it very quickly, and when we go in the place always has a pleasant odor, everything looks clean. Considering the price, the value is very good.

My mom lives at Maurice house and I love the food there and the cook and the staff. I think the food there has been outstanding and they're fairly responsive to the wishes of the residents there and have quarterly family nights where they prepare special things for the families and I think the food is amazing. Everybody is so nice to my mom there and her room is always clean. The maintenance guy Edwin has always been very responsive, any time my mom needs something, he's very quick to get over there and help her no matter what it is. The grounds have been beautiful lately, the shrubbery and everything, the facility is very well maintained. I really like the fact they always have a med tech available and she loves when they go on the bus trips.

My grandfather seems to like the food. He says he likes to eat with his friends. The activities have been really good. They take them to a lot of places and always have something going on. His room always seems clean and the building and apartment are always really nice. The caretakers deal with his constant complaints and are compassionate to his needs. They always call us if something is going on over there. I think they take really good care of him there.

Throughout the move in process the management team was very attentive and answered all of our questions. They even were available during off hours. Maintenance has been great. The building is beautiful and her room is always nice and clean. She wanted to go there to have friends her own age and get to do stuff with and she's getting exactly that.

We chose Maurice House because it's where my aunt's family lives. I'm very satisfied so far. The maintenance team helped us with her TV during the move in. The building itself looks perfect. Management has just been very friendly, they're very caring. I would say it has been a good decision so far.

I like the current management team. I think at the moment things are being done in what looks like a very confident way. The current cook seems to be very attentive to what he's doing. My mother says she likes the food. Anytime I have an issue with the cleaning in my mother’s room, they take care of it. Whether it is cleaning out the refrigerator or rewashing the floor, they are very good at that. The caretakers are very confident, and I feel very comfortable that they are attending to giving her medicine and checking on her. I have no notable concerns.

I haven't been living at the community for too long, but it has been satisfying. There is a good variety of food available and the housekeeping is very good. The healthcare staff takes care of me and it's why I am here.

They do a lot here and if he wants to participate he can, so I'd say they do a good job on that. Everything is fine with the food, which is great because that's a struggle with my father.
