The Meadows - Assisted Living

I've had no issues with management and everything seems to runs smoothly at the community. Mom seems to be really happy with the dining and there hasn't been any complaints. The activities are good and the care staff have been doing a good job with her medicine. I think they are doing a great job.

The chef is always helpful as are the servers when she has company and she has company there a lot. The maintenance staff have been very responsive to mom. The building always looks really nice. Rick, the driver, has been good about getting her to appointments at Kaiser and all that. She has been able to work that out. They have been real responsive to her needs in the care department.

We had some prior experience with the Meadows because of my in-laws. We found it to be a better experience and moved my mom in. Pat the Marketing Director and she was fabulous. We are absolutely pleased with the apartment she’s now in, and housekeeping keeps it nice and clean and neat. Maintenance got to most requests promptly. I think she's been real happy with the food and it looks good to me, it seems very good. I think there are a good variety of activities. I like the fact they post the schedule on the board in the common area sand the residents get a newsletter that has the calendar. They even put it in the elevators so I've been real happy with that. The care givers seem to be very attentive. We had that experience with my in-laws earlier, seven or eight years ago. Most of the same care staff is still there which indicates to me they like working there. Some even remembered my wife and I. Mom is safe there, and so far the value seems to be fair.

We moved my mom to this community because it was reasonably priced and it seemed to have all of the activities in one area and in one building. The staff that we met when we took the tour were all very nice and we had a good feeling about it. Everyone I have dealt with has been professional and straightforward. If I had a question about something and had to call to have someone clarify it management was right on the ball and took care of it right away. Every meal that my mom has had she has enjoyed. She is very happy with the dining and the food. When we moved in on Sunday, I wasn't sure how the cable TV was supposed to work. I talked to the guy at the front desk who told me there should be a box on the floor to screw the TV into. I told him there was no box so he said he would put a work order in for maintenance. They were in there at 8 or 9am the next day putting in the box. So far, her care seems to be good.

We moved my mom in becuase we got references from other people that had family members in The Meadows. The caretakers are all really good. They do a great job. The people like my mom are not always that easy to deal with. They all seem to be relaxed and handle it fine. Nobody is perfect but I haven't seen anything wrong. They all try hard and are calm. I have a good feeling about the Meadows.

I think the value is reasonable. It is still expensive but for the services they provide it is good. Everybody has been fantastic. You can walk up to any of them and ask a question and they are very polite and give you the information. My mom is one to complain and I haven't heard any complaints about the food and that is amazing. She actually likes it. They fold her clothes nice and neat and change her bed and her room is kept clean. Maintenance has been great and accommodating to the requests we have had.

The management staff seem to be very helpful when we need them. They are very accommodating when we have an issue. I think the activities are pretty good. My mom does participate in bingo and enjoys it. She uses the transportation to go to her doctor's appointments and it works out great. Pat and Alaina were our first point of contact. They were the reason we moved mom into the Meadows, because they made the process pretty easy for us. It was difficult for us and they were very compassionate and made the transition smoother. Families need that when they are moving their parents into a place like that.

I think it is a good value here. Dad does the movie nights they have with activities. If they have a social hour he will do that. He likes the activities. They do a good job in housekeeping and maintenance. Everybody on the care staff is great. They keep me informed if there is issues but there hasn’t been. You can walk up to them and ask what is going on.

We liked it because it was a smaller facility then others. I thought it would be better for my mom and her needs. My mom seems to enjoy the food and the atmosphere. I have seen some of her meals and they look pretty appetizing. The activities department do have a lot options and there are good choices. They have been cleaning her apartment weekly. I met with the housekeeping before and they are quite friendly and helpful to her. The caregivers are definitely there when my mom needs them. They are helpful in reminding her where she needs to be and the time she needs to be there. They call my mom by name which is helpful to her too.

The staff seem to be happy and if there is something wrong with my mom management does respond. The food is great and my mom is gaining weight. John is a nice kid. Whenever he does the laundry for my mom, he makes an effort to make it look nice. Overall, my mom gets good service at this community.
