Meridian at Bella Mar

I'm very happy. The med techs are very helpful. They'll answer my questions. They make sure George gets all of his medicines. They seem to be very good with George and with working with him. The nurse is great and gets my questions answered and looks into things that I might have a question on. My loved one usess the transportation weekly. The driver is very nice. She's prompt. The housekeeper keeps things very clean. She's very kind, and I see her all the time. The activities are wonderful. There's a nice variety of activities to maintain the memory of the residents. The activities director is very good about engaging the residents. She's very attentive and very caring and will sit on one on one time with them. She's knowledgeable about the memory part of everything. The dining is very good. The dining staff is wonderful. They are kind and attentive. I think the food is very good too. It's a very good quality, and if he wants something else, they're happy to get that for him. The head of the financial department seems to be very organized, and it makes that part of it easier. The staff accommodate him to meet his needs. They're very attentive to him, very kind to him, and very respectful. We're very happy with the staff, and I'm very happy with where he is at Bella Mar.

They have two full time nurses that are on duty and they watch out for everything. The activities director does an incredible job. The food is very good and they gear the menu towards the patients. Management answers all my questions and they work hard at making their patients feel comfortable.

Overall, I feel great about the facility. The management is very responsive and the care and dining staff always treat my mom with respect. In addition, the activities program is really well done, and Karen provides various activities to intiate positive interactions.

Of all the places I visited it was the only place that didn't have a retirement home odor. I liked the open-air patio; the small, intimate feel of it makes it more homey. It's a competitive price, and they worked with us. I think mom is a shade more care than they're sued to and they still accepted her, so I think they are being very generous to us. My mother loves the food. If she doesn’t want to eat what is on the menu, they go in and make her a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. They have lots of great activities and my mom participates in many of them. At Christmas there were events like caroling, she liked that. They offer yoga which is great, I sat through and watched a chair yoga class and watched my mom do that. How wonderful! She says her back is feeling better. I am really happy with the activities; they are well-designed for the people there. An awning on the patio broke and maintenance repaired it quickly. I know in the spring they'll do more modifications. They’re keeping the property up. I did discuss an issue with a manager as well as the staff and I think it got fixed this weekend, the management is responsive. Everybody in Memory Care is really very personally caring. My mom is a slow eater and they figured out to take her at the end so they can spend the time with her they need to help her eat. That tells me they are really engaged with the patient. I chose a smaller community because they get to know the residents. All the care givers are fabulous, just terrific people who care about what they do. If they don’t know something, they call and find out and I get an answer, they're quick to respond. I have already recommended it to two people.

I love the activities director and I think that she is great. I loved that it was a very light and airy place. It seems healthier there. My family has always lived where there was a view of the water and she is happy that she has an ocean view. It had a lot of fresh air and a beachy feel to it. I love that the staff texts me and keeps in touch with me on my mom’s status. The Bella Mar furnished my mom's room. Because I had to transfer her from Florida they have been able to assist me for the first month by providing a furnished place until I can buy her her own furniture. They didn't charge me for it for the first month. I was very appreciative of it. It seems clean. I think it has a lot to do with the architecture. I think the care staff is going over and above to compensate for the fact that perhaps there is a shortage of social interaction by the other residents. They are great. I am very happy with it. It is a very small community and there seems to be a good amount of staff.

We chose this community because the staff was really warm and friendly. The place seemed really welcoming and made me feel like they care about their residents. They communicated well and made me feel they were attentive. They were flexible with our finances and we able to work with us on the fees to move in. I was able to see a menu or two and there did look like there were a variety of things being served to the residents. The building appears to be maintained well. It smells nice. It is cozy and has a Christmas tree up and the outside looks well-manicured. I feel like the care has been really good from what I have seen. They seem to be up on the status of whether Mom has had a shower. They were good to call me and let me know they had success with the showering and she was running low on supplies. I have been happy that the nurse has been communicating how she has been doing. She let me know she didn't sleep well a few nights.

There seems to be a lot of activities offered and this is something that attracted me to Bella Mar. I've shared a couple of meals with my mom and the food has been really good. I've had different types of food each time I've been there and I thought the servers were good. Overall, the care staff has been very good and the building looks very well kept up.

Everything seems to be okay at Bella Mar. The dining staff cater to my mom and the food is good. The director of activities is always there and trying to get people to participate. The maintenance department seems to always be taking care of the place and painting it. The care staff seem to be very loving to my mom. They are caring for her, so it has worked out.

My mom is well taken care of and has a great room. Therefore, the value is very good for us. Management is great. They say "hi" everytime I am in there and they are looking out for my mom. The food looks good to me. Karen, the activities director, is always running something when I am there. She tries to involve people and I am impressed by that. The housekeeping has been great. The housekeepers all work hard. Maintenance hung up her pictures and that was great. The building is maintained well and I am impressed with the architecture. They have a roof that opens to the sky. The care my mom is getting at this community is good.

I would definitely recommend the Meridian at Bella Mar. The location is great and the people are good. I think they try to keep them active. They try to have different things like music. I think the place looks great. They painted and carpeted and got new chairs. I think the staff are doing the bes tthat they can.
