Merryvale Assisted Living

From the management and down to the staff, everything has been pretty much top notch since she's been there… I've already recommended it to somebody, and they have already moved in. I tell everybody that Merryvale is godsent. We were just blessed to get in. The building always looks nice and fresh. The decorations outside always make it look very appealing to people that come in. So far, so good with the housekeeping. I don't have any complaints. I think the activities are wonderful. The dining area is always nice and clean and fresh looking. The food is always presented in a good manner. It's appealing. The management is always there to answer any questions that I have. They always keep me infomed of anything that has been changed.

I am thrilled with how management handles things, my uncle enjoys the activities very much and housekeeping says what they are going to do and then does it. Maintenance is very responsive. They have had to do things in his room several times but they take care of it right away. The care is absolutely wonderful here. It is just the best. This community is almost as good as they can be.

They care about safety and comfort. They try to do things that enhances the holiday experience for everybody. I think they go the extra mile to make everybody feel at home, and they are well cared for. She gets her meds on time everyday. Maintenance are on it. In housekeeping and laundry, everything seems done, in order, and they keep up with everything. The activities are absolutely fabulous. There is a lot of music and art. Highly recommend it, we recommend it to everybody, a lot of people. She is super happy, and they just take good care of her. They humor her, and I feel like she is at home there.

I think the price is good for the age of the facility and the staffing levels they have. I think it is a good balance. What is being charged is definitely being represented in services and facilities. They've always worked with us, were very transparent going in, and have been exceedingly patient in working with us through the process. I thnk they are awesome. I think they have very well balanced and nutritous meals. The way that they cook for older people is different because they have different requirements. I think it is good quality food and prepared in a way that is easy for them to eat. They are constantly keeping the busy with stuff. The staff they have in activities is awesome. They get them engaged and keep them from being idle. I think they do a good job with that. The place is always so clean, and there are no odors. They are constantly working to keep it clean, and they do a good job. The care is great. We have had nothing but a good experience. Not in just what they do, but with their attitudes. There are nothing but great people to work with. I think it is an excellent facility, and I would recommend it easily. In my opinion, it is hands down the best place.

I am pretty confident that my father gets good care at the community. Everyone is friendly. He wears a little medallion, and when he presses the button, the healthcare staff is there within a minute. The building is clean, the lawn is professionally maintained, and they're in the process of removing carpeting for laminate flooring. Housekeeping is never dirty, the bed is always made and they wash laundry once a week. They have a monthly calendar that comes out with daily activities, and he enjoys their bingo. The dining staff attends to him well. Management does everything they're supposed to do. All in all, it's a pretty good place. The staff seems to care, which is about all you can ask.

It’s close to home, mom and I heard good things about it, and they could take her for a respite stay. Everyone is pleasant and easy to work with. She enjoys of all the activities and there's a good variety. She loves the bingo rewards program. She loves the field trips. Housekeeping has been fine, she loves coming back to a made bed each day. Response time is very good, the care givers are great. I would definitely recommend it.

Mangement is very personally involved and knowledgeable and easy to work with. The care services are very good and housekeeping has been great.

With management, I felt very comfortable with my mother being under her direction. I have actually met the chef and he is wonderful. He very much tries to please everyone and everyone has what they need and what they like. I have been to several of the activities and they have a great variety of the entertainment they bring in for the residents. They do a great job. As far as monetary value, I am sure it is similar to other facilities around related to the price, but I feel like we are getting good value for what we get.

The Director is very smart, caring, friendly and very professional. I think she is the best you could get. They do a really good job with the activities. They have seasonal activities, are always trying to do new things and are always trying to find things that are relevant to the residents. I think the maintenance staff keeps the building up very well and it always smells homey and fresh. The caregivers are very responsive and they check on my mom frequently which makes her feel secure. If she doesn't go to something they come and check on her to see why. I think it is priceless for what you get.

The community was recommended for my mother who recently moved in. Management has been great helping us figure things out. The food is good, and so is the service from the wait staff. The activities are very appropriate for my mom. Housekeeping, laundry service, and the building’s upkeep are all very good. Mom is comfortable there, and safe.
