Morningside of Evans

This community is homey, there isn't a lot of turnover here, and it is a good value. The director is good. She lets nothing slip through her fingers. She is on top of it and knows the rules, regulations and what is needed. She is easy to work with and very accommodating. I like her a lot. My mother in law is a diabetic, but they look out for those with special requirements, so she is able to eat some things here that she wouldn't otherwise be able to eat, such as diabetic cobblers. The dining servers are very good. They really know the residents and their likes and dislikes. They are really on top of it. The activities director is also really good. There isn't a day that goes by when there isn't something stimulating for the residents to do. Housekeeping is always prompt. They take care of things and get things back to her. Maintennace is 'johnny on the spot' regardless of what you ask them to do. The building is very good. It is neat, clean and never smells. This community just has the right feel.

Kelly, the manager, has been absolutely wonderful. She answers any questions and takes care of things. In regards to the dining, the residents are given the opportunity to choose their meals and have an alternative, which is really good. The staff in the dining area is really wonderful. There are activities going on all the time. Hope does a great job with the laundry and housekeeping. She comes every Friday and changes the bed sheets and takes the clothes and washes them. Clay does a good job with the maintenance. You'll put in a work order and he will have it done within a couple of days. I like that the caregivers come in and check on her every two hours. They will make sure she is coming to lunch and dinner. That is a huge relief to me.

Management is very good and personable. The building is in very good condition. He loves the breakfasts and the caregivers are doing really good.

I chose this community for my dad because we spoke with people in our community and it got a very good rating. Management is attentive and available for any questions or concerns, they've been very available. The healthcare staff are very attentive. I pay for them to administer my dad's medications and that's been very helpful and they're very on top of it. My dad has gotten really involved in a bunch of the games and seems to be enjoying himself. I've been very satisfied with the housekeeping and they seem to be very good and very attentive. The place fits my dad's personality and I have a good feeling about him being there.

I had visited it a few years ago when I put my brother-in-law in a community and I like how everyone here seems to be very happy. My father-in-law has had a difficult time with the transition. He had a potty mouth but they have worked with him and he has done well in changing that. They are professional and compassionate with him. I think that due to their professionalism that it worked. I have been in the dining room with him on a number of occasions and I am impressed with the staff and the food. He has gained a little extra weight since being there so it must be good. They were willing to go the extra mile to make his birthday special. I brought in a cake and they wouldn't let me do anything. They cut the cake and served it. They made sure everyone had a nice slice of cake. My father-in-law is not real approachable but they did get him to go to some bingo games. That says a lot because he is not a bingo player. They said or did something right. I am impressed that they have a family bingo night. He really complemented them on how easy it was for him to get in and out of the bus. He was pleased with that. When I have been over there, his laundry is done and it is nicely folded. They do it on the day they are supposed to do it. I went over one day and the rugs really smelled bad. I was going to complain and ask if they would wash the rugs. I didn't get a chance to mention it but the next time I went back they had washed the rugs. Maintenance brought in a microwave and assisted us with getting the cable set up. They did a really good job. He had to go to the hospital one day because he was having chest pains. I was very impressed that they had made copies of all his health records, his meds and his insurance. I didn't have to do any of that at the hospital. They were on the ball. He is frustrated about not being able to self-medicate. He wasn't getting it at times he was used to but they worked with him and adjusted the times to make him more comfortable. I was pleased with that. They have been very nice. I think they have gone the extra mile to work with our family because we have had some adjustments.

My grandma was very safe at this community and I thought it was a very good value. Management was great. Anytime I had a question or my grandmother had a problem it was immediately taken care of. Kelly and Dory, in management, were super responsive. They helped me a lot. The food was fine and this community was always doing some activity. The housekeeping was great and the community was very clean. One time the floor was wet and she thought there was a leak. The maintenance guy came right away to check on it. I was very happy and comfortable with the care she received. This community is a great place and I cannot say enough nice things about it.

I've been very satisfied with the management team and I like them very much. Management does a good job and they work really hard. My mom and I were very satisfied with mom's care. It was good food in the dining room. They do an excellent job with the activities and there is something always going on. Maintenance did everything very timely and very well and the building is very well maintained. The housekeeping and laundry services were good. Overall, I felt like the price was reasonable.

For this area, it's a good value. Management has been very friendly, helpful, and has answered all of my questions. If there has been anything we've needed, they've been right there. My mom likes getting the menu the day before to pick what she wants, and the alternative menu has plenty of things that she likes. They come to the room and encourage mom to come out and do activities. We needed a couple of things when we moved in and maintenance took care of it and followed through. The care staff does exactly what they say they will do. I am very pleased with everything so far.

I moved my husband into the community and I think maintenance seems to be very, very good. I've seen they have a lot of activities. He has enjoyed the food. It's very good. The caretakers seem to be very good as well.

I'm a nurse so I had been to several of the communities visiting patients and I selected Morningside because I thought it was the best fit for my dad with his capabilities. One of the other residents told me that the reason she selected the facility was because it's one floor and I agree with that, I really love that aspect of it that it's one floor with no stairs involved. The management was very friendly. It's excellent; he has a premium room with a good view. He had a fall and they were right there to help him up when he hit the call bell. I recommend it to everyone; I think it's the nicest one around.
